Story

The Chelyabinsk State Medical Institute was established by Order of the People's Commissariat of Health of the USSR No. 403 dated 06/28/1944 on the basis of a medical institute evacuated from Kyiv and with the assistance of prof. B.N. Uskov. After the transfer back to Kyiv, 147 teachers and staff remained in Chelyabinsk, including 7 doctors of sciences, 31 candidates of sciences, 10 graduate students. The first director of the Institute was Professor Alexander Nikolaevich Fedorovsky, who remained in this position until 1950.

By order of the State Committee for Higher Education of Russia dated 06.23.1995 No. 953 and the Order of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Russia dated 07.20.1995 No. 209, the Chelyabinsk State Medical Institute was renamed the Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy. In accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated September 10, 2008 No. 1300-r, the Academy is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health and social development Russian Federation.

According to the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of October 12, 2010 No. 1751-r, the Academy was reorganized in the form of joining the state educational institution additional professional education "Ural State Medical Academy of Additional Education" of the Federal Agency for Health and Social Development with subsequent education on the basis of the affiliated institution of a separate (structural) subdivision.

Student Scientific Society

  • was founded in the first years of the existence of the university and plays an important role in shaping the future doctor and researcher. Performing the first scientific work, students acquire skills that will be useful both for a doctor of any specialty and for a scientist.
  • SSS is actively coordinating the activities of student scientific circles of departments and laboratories, assisting in the publication and implementation of the results of students' scientific work, assisting students in participating in scientific conferences, symposiums, seminars, scientific congresses, providing information about conferences, competitions and grants . In addition, the tasks of the SSS include the organization of the annual final scientific student conference, as well as the publication of the conference program and collection. The collection includes scientific papers by students of South Ural State Medical University and other medical universities, including foreign ones.
  • The final scientific student conference is held annually in April-May. It includes the 1st plenary session, at which the rector of the university makes a welcoming speech. After the 1st plenary session, sections begin their work (usually 10-15), at which young researchers report on the work done. Students' reports are illustrated with multimedia and other presentations, after which the authors of the papers answer questions from the chairmen of the section and other conference participants. Thus, the student's presentation takes the form of a scientific discussion on the presented problem. At the end of the work of all sections at the II plenary session, the results are summed up and the students who won prizes are awarded.
  • Various forms of student research work (SRWS) cover a large number of students in all departments of the university. At the departments of junior courses, it is carried out, as a rule, in the form of abstract papers, self-manufacturing and descriptions of drugs, participation in subject Olympiads. At the departments of biomedical profile and clinical departments, students under the guidance of experienced teachers are involved in independent research work. The result of the work of students is the presentation of their data in the form of reports, abstracts at departments and presentations at annual scientific student conferences.
  • The research work of students at SUSMU is carried out in accordance with the "Regulations on the Student Scientific Society". The general management of NIRS is carried out by the vice-rector for scientific work and international relations.

The history of the university dates back to July 1, 1944: then in Chelyabinsk, in accordance with the order of the People's Commissariat of Health of the USSR dated June 29, 1944, a new higher educational institution was opened - the Chelyabinsk Medical Institute (on the basis of the reevacuated Kyiv Medical Institute). After the departure of the Kyivans, 147 teachers and staff remained in Chelyabinsk. Among them are 7 doctors of medical sciences, 31 candidates of medical sciences and 10 post-graduate students.

In 2009, the faculty of pre-university training was opened at the university, which coordinates the activities of preparatory courses, admission committee and work with alumni. In general, the results of this work are satisfactory: the academy consistently has the highest competition, the highest USE scores among the universities of the Chelyabinsk region. Based on the results of monitoring the quality of admission to state higher educational institutions in Russia, which has been carried out for the past 3 years, the academy occupied a leading position among 500 participants. It is the first among all South Ural universities, and the tenth among all medical higher educational institutions in the country, and among all universities of the Russian Federation it is consistently in the top thirty (29th place).

At the Faculty of Postgraduate and Additional Professional Education, training is provided in 32 specialties in internship and in 76 specialties in residency. The faculty also implements the following programs of additional education in the profile of the main professional educational programs of the university: advanced training in the cycles of general and thematic improvement with a qualifying exam; professional retraining in long-term (over 500 study hours) programs in 65 specialties; on-the-job training; specialization and improvement of specialists with secondary medical education.

The most important direction of the educational policy of the university is the improvement of the practical training of students. It is based on a clinic, clinical bases, and a center of practical skills. Established in 1992 on the basis of the medical unit of the trust "Chelyabmetallurgstroy" (City Clinical Hospital No. 7), the clinic since 2005 has been structural subdivision academy (university).

Along with high-quality training of specialists, the most important priority of the university is science. The preparation of highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel is carried out through postgraduate studies in 24 specialties. Doctoral studies have been opened for the preparation of doctors of medical sciences in 2 specialties. There are 3 dissertation councils. University (ChelGMA) in 1998 was one of the co-founders of the South Ural scientific center Russian Academy medical sciences. To date, the teaching staff of the university is represented by 740 teachers, among them 157 doctors of science, 390 candidates of science. 547 employees have an academic degree, which is 73.9 percent. The structure of the university includes 62 departments, the Central Research Laboratory, the Research Institute of Immunology, a scientific library with a fund of more than 700,000 units of documents and scientific publications, an anatomical museum, a publishing service, a center for practical skills, a simulation training center. In accordance with the decision of the academic council of the university, On the basis of the ChelGMA, the Central Scientific Research Laboratory and the clinic of the Academy, Professor I. I. Dolgushin created the Research Institute of Immunology with the aim of coordinating research in the field of immunology and allergology, improving the quality of scientific research and introducing their results into practical healthcare.

ChelGMA acted as one of the co-founders of the South Ural Scientific Center for Population Health (YuUCPZ) of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, established in March 2002. The cooperation partners that contribute to the development of the main areas of activity of the SUUCCH are: the State Research Center for Preventive Medicine of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (GNIC of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation), McGill University (Montreal, Canada), Russian and international centers of the WHO—CINDI (Countrywide Integrated Noncommunicable Disease Intervention) program ).

More than 4 thousand students study at SUSMU, almost 59% of students study on a budget. Approximately 32% of applicants are enrolled in the university according to the target quota.
