New type of battle "General battle"

New battle type "General Battle" for the "Random Battle" mode

Rules:

  • 60 players on the map, 30 in each team;
  • Only Tier X vehicles are available;
  • Fight time 15 minutes;

Win condition:

  • capture the enemy base;
  • destroy all enemy equipment.

Matchmaker:

  • Battle of the "General battle" type is formed from the general queue of the "Random battle" mode.
  • Only level 10 vehicles can participate in battles of the "General battle" type.
  • Getting into the battle type "General battle" occurs randomly, by analogy with other types of battle: "Assault" and "Encounter battle".
  • The battle type "General Battle" is enabled by default for all players. Enabling/disabling is done in the settings: Settings -> Game -> Types of Random Battles -> Grand Battle.
  • Each team is conditionally divided into 3 subgroups, 10 people each.
  • The player cannot choose a subgroup, belonging to a specific subgroup is determined by the matchmaker.
  • The composition of the teams in the Grand Battle is regulated general rules matchmaking 2.0.
  • The composition of each subgroup by vehicle type will be as similar as possible to the composition of a similar subgroup from the opposite team.
  • The number of self-propelled guns in this type of battle is limited to 4 units per team.

Map:

  • In this update, the General Battle takes place on only one Nebelburg map.
  • Map size: 1.4 x 1.4 kilometers.
  • The appearance of players on the map is regulated by their subgroup.
  • Each subgroup has its own starting position.
  • There are two bases: one for each team (as in a Standard battle).

Interface:

  • Loading screen, stats screen (by Tab), post-battle stats screen, and team line-up panel adapted for 60 players.
  • The whole team is divided into 3 subgroups.
  • The composition of each subgroup can be viewed in detail by clicking on the corresponding subgroup.
  • Changed the top element of the user interface. In addition to the total number of vehicles destroyed by the team, this element also displays the percentage of each team's total hit points.

Awards, achievements and statistics:

  • In each battle of the "General Battle" type, players will be able to receive bonds. Also, players will be able to get bonds in regular Random Battles, where only vehicles of the 10th level (the so-called "twelfth level";) participate.
  • The number of bonds received as a reward depends on the experience earned in battle.
  • The player will be able to complete Combat Missions, Personal Combat Missions, as well as receive all the rewards available in Random Battles.
  • In the Grand Battle, players will be able to receive badges of class and marks on the barrel, just like in regular random battles.
  • Battles of the "General battle" type are not taken into account in the summary of the player's achievements and do not affect the statistics of random battles;
  • Statistics for this battle type will be displayed in Achievements -> Statistics ->
  • Statistics on the success of a particular vehicle in the "General Battle" battle type will be displayed in Achievements -> Vehicles -> Battle Type "General Battle".

Hall of Fame:

  • The updated Hall of Fame is now in the game client.
  • A new section has been added to the "Achievements" screen - "Hall of Fame", which has undergone many changes.
  • Now you can evaluate your results in Random Battles not only for your account as a whole, but also for each vehicle separately, as well as view the best players.
  • You can compare your achievements with friends, clanmates and other players for different time intervals.
  • In addition, you can evaluate your effectiveness using the new " World Ranking of Tanks" (WTR), which shows the level of play on individual machines in comparison with all players on the server.

Crew stun mechanic improvements:

  1. Added the duration of the inflicted stun to post-battle statistics.
  2. Improved the mechanics of dealing damage and stunning through obstacles. Now the self-propelled guns will not inflict damage through obstacles more than 2 meters thick if the target is completely hidden behind them. 4. Changes in LBZ in 9.20.1 WoT

In the new patch, we have reworked the LBZ. And these are not only changes in conditions, with adjustments for difficulty or changed conditions of the "random" - we have made a new, convenient interface and revised the mechanics of completing task chains.

A little about the interface: the entry point to personal combat missions will be changed, now it will be in the hangar header, a new tab "Campaign" will appear between "Tasks" and "Achievements" (the name is not final and may change).
- In the hangar, LBZs are moved to a separate button.
- The main LBZ menu has also been redesigned. Now the interface displays the required order of performing Operations and Combat Missions.
- New operation selection interface, where you can see the progress of the operation. You can now track the progress of completing tasks on a specially created tactical map. This screenshot shows the completion of all 15 KBs with honors.

// New mechanics for completing combat missions: there are no more award lists. Now, for completing the final KB from the branch, you will receive a tank module, and for completing it with honors, you will also receive an order form.

"Modules" are needed to receive an award tank - completed all five KB chains and received a tank. But the “Order Form” is already more interesting, because. it allows you to skip the execution of any combat mission. That's right - if you get stuck on some task, you can now skip it if you previously managed to complete any final BR with honors and get the main reward for it. Including the final combat mission, but to skip it you will need as many as 4 order forms. A little more difficult, but worth it. By the way, the task can then be overfulfilled and you can get the “Order Form” back, it is reusable. Also, “Order Forms” are accumulated and transferred to the next operation, i.e. over time, as you accumulate, you will be able to skip the execution of not one chain of knowledge bases, but several. The progress of the LBZ, of course, is being carried out and after the release of the update, you will receive "Order Forms" for all completed final BZs with honors - provided that you did not miss the final Combat missions. And a reward for fulfilling the main conditions of the missed final Battle missions. For example, if you have completed Operation StugIV and Operation T-28 HTC by skipping chains of self-propelled guns, we will give you a reward for the main conditions. But these are two additional tankers, by the way.

- Other changes: But that's not all. We have added a lot of new things: new rewards, revised the mechanics of recruiting tank girls (now you do not need to receive them to start the next operations), and so on.

Very soon, players will have a new patch - 9.20, which means a lot of innovations. Traditionally, before a patch is released, developers launch a test server, with which everyone can see and try all the changes without any impact on their own statistics.

The test server is downloaded as a separate client, where, like on your main client, you must enter the data of a valid account, under which you will test the update.

The test version of the game exists so that players can try out a future patch and, if possible, notice all the errors and bugs so that developers can fix them before the patch is released.

How to become a World of Tanks 0.9.20 tester?

Everything is quite simple here - you just need to download the test client installer on the official website of the game or from our website (link at the end of the article), wait for the installation and log in under your name.

By the way, every player who gets on the test server gets to use 20k gold, 100m free xp and silver per account so that everyone can try any tank in the game. After the test server closes, all gold, experience and money will disappear, and the account statistics will remain the same - the test does not affect it at all, it works like a separate game.

New form of fighting

Do you still remember the May testing of battles, where 60 players played at once - 30 people for each team? At 9.20, a unique battle format for Tier X vehicles will be added to the "Random Battle" mode, where 60 players will fight - "General Battle".

The fights will take place on new map, which was created specifically for this battle format - "Nebelburg". The map size is 1.4x1.4 km, which is larger than any currently existing map in World of Tanks.

The rules of combat are the same as in other battles of the Random Battle mode: destroy all enemy vehicles or capture the map. The number of self-propelled guns is limited to four units per team. The battle format "General battle" can be turned on and off in the settings.

New branch of tanks

For a long time, Wargaming has been saying that the Chinese tank destroyer branch will be exclusive to the Chinese server, but in update 9.20 this branch will no longer be exclusive.

SPG changes

After the release of update 9.18, when SPGs were significantly redesigned, Wargaming collected statistics and feedback from players in order to decide in which direction to move forward. A few months later, WG improved the mechanics of damage and stun calculation by adding a number of additional parameters when shooting through obstacles:

  • You don't have to worry about artillery fire if the building (destructible or indestructible) that is used for shelter is 2 m or more thick, and your vehicle is completely covered behind it. You will be safe there: your car will not take damage and will not be stunned.
  • A vehicle standing behind a fence or a small structure less than 2m thick will take damage and be stunned, as it would be in an open area.
  • The third scenario: the building is solid (2 m or more), but the car is not completely hidden behind it (for example, the stun occurred at the time of arrival behind the shelter). In this case, the duration of the stun and the damage will depend on which part of the vehicle was hit. Depending on the area under fire, the vehicle will receive:
    1. 25% of total damage and stun time;
    2. 50% of total damage and stun time;
    3. 75% of total damage and stun time;
    4. 100% total damage and stun duration.

Changes will also be made to the interface of post-battle messages: in order to fully display the combat effectiveness of the player, information about the total time of the stun inflicted will be shown in the battle results.

Vehicle rebalance

In Update 9.20, a lot of vehicles from the four nations that we have in the game will be rebalanced at once. These will be Soviet averages and heavy tanks, as well as tank destroyers; French medium and heavy tanks, as well as tank destroyers; German heavy tanks and tank destroyers; American medium tanks.

Here I would like to add separately that Wargaming abandoned the idea of ​​rebalancing the Bat.-Châtillon 25 t. During testing of new versions, sufficient arguments were not found to rebalance this iconic machine.

Also in the French tree, there will be changes in the tank destroyer branch at tier X.
