From February 17 to February 19, 2017, Moscow will host the first international rhythmic gymnastics tournament called Grand Prix Moscow-2017, which will be held at the Druzhba Sports Hall (Luzhniki).

On February 17 and 18, the competition program provides for qualifying competitions, and on February 19, the finals of the Grand Prix 2017 and the Gala Concert will be waiting for us.

Rhythmic gymnastics is not just a sport, but a great combination of physical activity and aesthetic art. Before the young athletes who are engaged in it, it is worth not an easy task: the need to feel the rhythm and at the same time be able to properly apply a certain gymnastic element under it.

It is difficult, but it can be learned, for example, at the Elite school. Those pupils who show the best results regularly defend the honor educational institution in special tournaments, competitions. A list-schedule is created in advance, which indicates all the upcoming events in which you can and should participate.

Competition Features

Modern competitions are divided into:

• Classification. They are held in strict accordance with the program, uniform rules, etc.
• Non-classification. They are held according to a special created, separate program.
• Qualifiers. Based on their results, a team is assembled and formed.

They have several important features:

• Large and smaller events are held in specialized facilities: halls, sports palaces, arenas, etc. The competition area is outlined 13x13 meters, the carpet is laid out. Ceiling height should be up to 10 meters.
• Use of equipment during the competition: hoop, ball, maces, ribbons. Equipment of a special table for measuring and checking objects used by gymnasts.
• The performances of the contestants are evaluated on a 20-point system.
• The duration of each exercise is from 75 to 90 seconds.
• The choice of phonogram for the competition number remains with the athlete and her coaches.
• The presence of a special assembled panel of judges, as well as a coordinating judge who monitors the performances and decides other organizational issues during the tournament.
