Recommendations to parents - on what days you can baptize a child. Signs at the birth and baptism of a child Favorable days for the baptism of a child in May

Baptism is taken very seriously in Christianity. It is believed that after this rite, a person is born again. In other words, this is how the spiritual coming into being takes place. What days are children baptized in the church? In our article you can find the answer to this question. In doing so, we will consider other important features of the rite. Now let's talk about this sacrament in more detail.

Baptism

How and when to baptize a child? What days can the sacrament be held? It is generally customary to perform the ceremony with newborn babies or babies under the age of one year. The sacrament is performed on the days established by the church. But it also happens that completely adult people come to baptism. This is due to the fact that back in the days Soviet Union It was forbidden to baptize children and go to church in general. But there are those who have decided to change their faith and go to Christianity.

Future spiritual parents must be present at baptism. They are chosen by the mother and father of the child, or by the baptized person himself, if we are talking about a completely adult person. Spiritual parents will be mentors to their godchild. They should protect him in the same way as his own parents would. And in the event of the premature death of mom and dad, or another reason why the child remains an orphan, the spiritual father and mother will have to take the upbringing of the godson into their own hands.

sacrament clothing

For the rite of baptism, a special attire is required. It could be a denim shirt that the future godmother of the child should buy. You also need a white diaper, towel or, as the people call it, kryzhma, in order to wrap or wipe the baptized. The future spiritual mentor should also bring this.

The godfather must purchase a pectoral cross in the church, with which the ceremony will be performed. For the baby, it is desirable that he be on a ribbon or string, for safety reasons. If the cross was not bought in the temple, it must be consecrated before the ceremony. Remember that if the baptism takes place in Orthodox Church, a Catholic cross is not suitable for that ceremony. It is very easy to distinguish them.

Who should be at the ceremony?

Before talking about the days on which children are baptized in the church, it is necessary to talk about those present at the ceremony. Baptism has long been considered a sacrament. Therefore, only the holy father, the child and future godparents can be present at it. But to date, no one adheres to this rule. Therefore, almost all relatives are invited to the baptism of a child and even a photographer is ordered to capture this event on camera. But some priests still do not approve of this innovation.

It is also desirable, before baptizing a child, for a spiritual parent to go to church seminars, where they will be told about the responsibility placed on them and how to behave correctly during the rite itself. But again, today no one observes this rule. And future mentors appear only on the day of the ceremony, where a few minutes before it begins, the priest tells what they will have to do.

When the ceremony begins, the parents bring the child in their arms to the church. Then they give it to one of the godparents. The boy must be held by the girl, and the girl by the man. When the ceremony begins, there should be complete silence in the temple, only the priest reads prayers. They must be repeated by both parents. With these prayers they renounce the devil twice. After that, the priest takes the child and reads prayers of anointing over him. Then comes the shearing process. It doesn't matter if it's a boy or a girl. The priest cuts a cross on the child's head. This rite symbolizes obedience to the Lord and a kind of sacrifice. If a boy is baptized, then the priest brings him to the altar in his arms. If it is a girl, then her holy father leans against the icon of the Mother of God. After these ceremonies, the child returns to spiritual parents, but vice versa.

Age

On what days are children baptized in the church, at what age? As we have already found out in this article earlier, anyone can undergo the sacrament. In this case, age does not matter. The rite can be passed even by those who are over eighteen.

However, it is best to do this as soon as possible. It is believed that after the baptism of the child, the devil will not be able to take possession of his soul and guide him on the wrong path. The earlier the sacrament is held, the calmer the baby will sleep, the less sick. Many parents wonder if a child can be baptized if they themselves are not baptized. Of course you can and should. And even parents themselves can be baptized if such a desire arises.

If a person decides to be baptized in adulthood, then before that he must undergo catechization and thus remove original sin from himself.

Days of the ceremony in the temple

When is the best time to celebrate? On what days are children baptized in the church? It is believed that it is best to perform the ceremony with a child on the fortieth day from his birth. It has absolutely nothing to do with the baby. It’s just that if it is vital for him that his mother be present at the ceremony with him, then forty days must pass before the woman can enter the temple. After giving birth, a girl is considered dirty during this period, so you need to wait until her body is cleansed.

After the expiration of the prescribed period, the priest reads a prayer of purification over the woman, after which she can enter the temple. But it also happens that a child needs to be christened urgently. This may be due mainly to the illness of the baby. Then the mother is forbidden to attend the ceremony. The most optimal age for the baptism of a baby is considered to be up to six months.

As for religion, it does not matter at all what days children are baptized in the church. But each temple has its own schedule and time allotted for the ceremony. Therefore, before baptizing a baby, parents must first go to the church where the sacrament will be held and agree on the time and day with the priest.

So what day of the week can a child be baptized? As we have already found out earlier, it is possible to perform the ceremony on any day of the week, regardless of whether it is a weekend or a weekday.

Where and on what days can a child be baptized?

Children are allowed to be baptized not only in the temple or church. You can conduct the ceremony at home or in any other place chosen by the parents. To do this, you need to invite the priest and purchase everything you need in advance. On which day to baptize a child at home, it also does not matter, as if you did it in the temple. The main thing here is to agree with the holy father, who will conduct the ceremony. He will appoint the time and day when he can arrive at the place you have appointed.

celebration

We found out what day of the week children are baptized and how to conduct the ceremony. Now consider how best to celebrate this event.

After the ceremony, usually all those invited go to the baby's house. This is where the celebration begins. Parents set a generous table with refreshments. According to old customs, it is believed that it must have cookies and pies. But no matter how the celebration of this secret ceremony is carried out, the main thing is that the baby grows up strong and healthy.

You have decided to baptize your child, but don't know where to start. How to do it? What is needed for this? Priest Sergiy Zvonarev, an employee of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, a cleric of the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity in Khoroshevo, will help to figure it out.

Now almost all parents, regardless of whether they live according to church canons or not, are trying to baptize their children. Father Sergius, what do you think about this?

Of course, the desire to baptize a baby in any case is only welcome. However, parents would like to wish a more responsible attitude to the sacrament. Baptism is not a tribute to fashion or tradition, but the spiritual birth of a person for a mysterious life with God, which occurs only once. In the sacrament of Baptism, a person is given the grace of the Holy Spirit, which helps him grow spiritually, strengthen himself in love for God and neighbor. Taking holy baptism, the person becomes a full member of the Church and can participate in other ordinances.

Faith is an essential condition for receiving the sacrament of Baptism. Of course, it is pointless to demand faith from an infant. Baptism of children occurs according to the faith of their parents, as well as godparents.

At what age is it best to baptize a child?

There are no strict requirements: baptize the child when you see fit. However, given the spiritual importance of this sacrament, one should not particularly delay either - usually children are baptized in the first year of life.

Is it possible to baptize a child if his parents are unbaptized, of a different faith or baptized in non-Orthodox (for example, Catholics, Armenians or Baptists)?

It is possible and necessary. The religion of the parents in this case is not a determining factor.

Are there rules about baptizing more than one person at the same time? Can children and parents, brothers and sisters be baptized together?

Nothing prevents the simultaneous baptism of several people: in our time, 20-30 people are often baptized at the same time. It is possible to be baptized together with relatives. I think that it is a great spiritual joy when close people receive Holy Baptism together.

Most couples who want to baptize their baby are not married in a church. Can they baptize their child?

Calling on Orthodox people to enter into a church marriage, the Church, at the same time, recognizes the marriage registered in the registry office as legal. If the child's parents are not married, this does not prevent him from being baptized.

Father Sergiy, you know that, unfortunately, there are many single-parent families and children born out of wedlock. What to do in such cases?

The presence in the family of only one of the parents is not an obstacle to the baptism of the child, as well as other conditions of his birth.

The question of choosing a name is perhaps one of the most exciting. Despite the fact that, in principle, a child can be baptized with any name, it is customary in the Russian Orthodox Church to baptize children with the name of one of the saints, who is mentioned in the Saints (a list of saints' names). If the name given at birth is not in the Saints, then, as a rule, the consonant name of one of God's saints is given (for example, Karina - Catherine, Inga - Inna, Robert - Rodion), or the name of a saint whose memory falls on the date the birth of a child (for example, January 14 - Basil the Great, October 8 - St. Sergius of Radonezh, July 24 - Equal-to-the-Apostles Princess Olga). With this name, a person is baptized, can participate in the sacraments. This name is written in commemoration notes.

How to choose a church where a child will be baptized and is it possible to baptize a child at home?

The choice of the temple where the baptism will take place is more important for the parents than for the baby himself. If you are parishioners of a particular church, then it is better to baptize there.

Baptisms at home, as a rule, are performed only under some special circumstances that prevent people from coming to the temple, for example, in the event of a serious illness of a child.

What days do baptisms take place? Is it possible to baptize a child in fasting?

Baptism can be performed absolutely on any day - Lenten, ordinary or festive. But each church has its own schedule, so when choosing a day for christening, you need to consult with the priest.

Who can be invited to be godparents? What responsibilities does this place on them?

Orthodox Christians who are not married to each other, and also do not plan a further marriage, can become godparents, since godfathers are spiritually related to each other.

The role of godparents is great. It is they who promise to raise the child in the faith. The participation of godparents in the spiritual upbringing of children should be real, not nominal. Today there are all possibilities for this. Priests are always ready to discuss issues of spiritual education of children, in church shops there is religious children's literature that tells about God, faith, the Church.

In order to teach godchildren the basics of faith, godparents themselves must understand and be able to explain what and in whom they believe.

A godfather can be either a distant or close relative of the person being baptized - an uncle or aunt, brother or sister, grandmother or grandfather, or just a good friend of the child's parents. When choosing a godfather, of course, you need to be guided by how good a spiritual educator and adviser he can become for your child.

What is needed for baptism? How should one prepare for it?

In those churches where it is customary to hold catechumens (that is, teaching) conversations, godparents need to visit them in advance. For the baptism of an infant, you need to have a baptismal shirt, a pectoral cross, a towel, and a few candles. All this can be prepared in advance by yourself, or purchased at a church shop. According to tradition, godparents give the baby a cross and an icon of his heavenly patron. Before the baptism of a child, it is advisable for Orthodox Christians to confess and take communion, because on the day of baptism, for the first time, their baby will also take communion with them.

Who can be present in the church at the time of baptism?

Everyone who is not indifferent to this spiritual event in the life of the family, and who prayerfully wants to share the joy of the Holy Sacrament, can be present.

How should baptisms be celebrated?

You can set the table, prepare refreshments, invite godparents, relatives to celebrate this event. But remember that the day of christening should not be marred by abuse. It must be sanctified by love and spiritual joy.

I talked with Father Sergius: Alexandra Borisova.

In order for a newborn baby to follow the right path and God's grace be given to him, parents consciously baptize the baby. Many young mothers and fathers are wondering what days are best to baptize a baby. There is no clear restriction on this matter; special importance is attached to the sacrament itself. It is important for parents to know what the baptism is for before starting to plan the expected date of baptism.

Even before the birth of a baby, parents decide that they will conduct the rite of baptism. It has long been believed that only after baptism does the baby acquire given name, connects with God.

Baptism is a special spiritual sacrament. Sometimes true miracles happen. According to representatives of the church, at the moment of the baptism of a new person, the gates to Heaven open. They sincerely believe that the sacrament of baptism is able to wash away all sins from the child, making him clean before the creator. Many parents see this as a great way to protect their child from various misfortunes. Parents should take the time to choose godparents for their little one who are ready to engage in the spiritual education of the little one.

A child can be chrismated at any age. To baptize a child under 7 years old is exclusively the decision of the parents, but in the period from 7 to 14 years old this sacrament is done only with the consent of the children. Teenagers come to baptism consciously.

The Orthodox Church does not put any restrictions on the timing of the sacrament of baptism. It is not forbidden to baptize babies during strict fasts. The ceremony is associated with the internal routine of a particular Orthodox church. As a rule, baptismal rites are held on Saturdays. It is important for parents to remember that during major church holidays, the priest will not have time to conduct the sacrament.

Baptized persons are recognized by the church, candles are lit for their health. This is another reason why parents choose to have their baby baptized on time.

When to baptize a newborn according to the church calendar?

The optimal period for baptism is the time when the mother's birth discharge ends, when the baby is 40 days old. Previously, it was believed that it was necessary to conduct the sacrament of baptism on the 8th day from the moment the baby was born, if the umbilical wound had healed.

There are such difficult situations when parents baptize a baby without waiting for the expiration of 40 days from the moment of his birth. This is associated with complications during childbirth, traumatic childbirth, poor health of the child. If the parents do not have the opportunity to visit the church, a priest is invited to conduct the ceremony. At some critical moments, the mother herself can sprinkle the child with holy water and read a prayer.

After a hospital baptism, it is suitable to conduct a ceremony in a church when the parents have such an opportunity. Usually baptism is held on the 40th birthday of the baby, the days of fasting are not taken into account here. The sacrament is not performed on the days of great church holidays due to the workload of church priests. Before going to church for the baptism of a child, it is advisable for parents to familiarize themselves with the basic requirements for baptism.

Basic rules for the rite of baptism

According to the rules of the Orthodox Church, representatives of other religions are not present during the sacrament of baptism. This position is clarified with the invitees in advance. The temple is a place where people go with a pure heart and thoughts. If there are any conflicts in the family, then you need to settle everything in advance.

After the ceremony, the parents set the table for the godparents to celebrate this bright event. They give the child a present so that he remembers this day. The sacrament of baptism is performed for one child or combined with relatives, this will not diminish his strength.

What days of the week are best for baptism?

This ceremony is carried out on any day of the week, all this is discussed with the priest. Fathers most often gather to baptize children in the first half of the week. On Sunday, the sacrament is not held due to congestion in the church. As a rule, children are baptized on Saturday.

The rite of baptism requires careful preparation from parents. It takes place in a separate room. The godparents at this time read prayers, and the little one is smeared with myrrh, dipped in holy water. The procedure takes from 40 minutes to 1 hour. After the ceremony, held in a separate room, the baby is solemnly brought into the church. The priest carries the boys through the altar, the girls do not pass through this place.

These are the basic rules and features of chrismation. Each parent must take into account the indicated terms of baptism, adhere to the norms of behavior in the temple.

Auspicious days for the sacrament of baptism

People are superstitious, so they willingly believe that there are favorable days for infant baptism and days when the sacrament cannot be performed. Here is a list of auspicious days for baptism by month:

  • 7, 9, 21 and 27 February;

Christening by day of the week

Baptism on Monday

If parents believe in folk omens associated with the sacrament of baptism, then it is better for them to abandon the idea of \u200b\u200bcarrying out the procedure on this day of the week. As you know, it is undesirable to start all important things on Monday, otherwise they will not be successful.

Baptism is one of the important and crucial moments in the life of a baby. It is for this reason that many priests do not recommend performing the ceremony on this day of the week.

Sacrament of Baptism on Tuesday

Tuesday is considered a more favorable day for undertakings. But again, baptism on this day is not recommended. Priests are advised to choose a more favorable day for the procedure, without choosing Tuesday.

Wednesday

Despite this, the sacrament of baptism is not advised to be performed on this day. This day is unfavorable for such important days.

Mystery on Thursday

According to folk superstitions and signs, Thursday is the best day for the sacrament of baptism. It is generally accepted that people born on Thursday are lucky in life. Bad, negative events pass them by.

Friday

This day of the week is considered not the most fortunate for the sacrament. Many superstitions say that on Friday, a person encounters many obstacles and failures on the way. Starting something new on this day is not worth it, because any business is doomed to failure.

What do we know about the Sacrament of Baptism, what do parents and godparents need to know in order to baptize a child, what are the requirements of the Church for the celebration of this Sacrament, on what days is it performed in the church and on Lazarus Saturday?

Baptism age of children

One can decide that it is possible to be baptized only in adulthood, having consciously approached the choice of faith. This is not true. the church has been performing since ancient times, but certain rather strict conditions must be met.

In the future, children should be brought up as Orthodox Christians, participate in church life, receive the sacraments, and have mentors teaching them this. For this, there are godparents at baptism, that is, godparents. They make a vow to God instead of a child who cannot yet do it himself. They are further responsible for the spiritual upbringing of the godchild, and it is they who will answer before God for what kind of Christian the child for whom they vouched has become.

The question of age, that is, what time to baptize a child, should be decided by parents. Approaching the choice of godparents in the same way as agreeing to become a godfather should be taken seriously, thinking about what kind of spiritual upbringing the child will receive in the future.

When should a baby be baptized?

What days are children baptized? It has long been customary in the church to baptize on the eighth or fortieth day. And that's why.

According to church tradition, on the birthday of the mother and child, three prayers are read by the priest, blessing the mother and the baby who came into this world.

On the eighth day, the priest performs the rite of naming. This ceremony has a deep spiritual meaning. The name affirms our existence in the Universe. The Church in this rite recognizes the uniqueness of a particular person, his personality, endowed with a divine gift. By our name given to us in baptism, the Lord knows us, accepts prayers for us.

The name of a Christian has always been considered a saint, therefore there is a tradition of naming in honor of an Orthodox saint, who then becomes the heavenly intercessor of a person. It's the name given to man in the rite of naming, he is mentioned when receiving the Sacraments of the Church (confession, communion, wedding), when commemorated in notes, when commemorated in home prayers.

On the fortieth day, a ceremony should be performed on the mother, containing cleansing prayers, allowing her to visit the temple from that day on and be a member of the church again (from the day of birth until the fortieth day, a woman is absent from the temple for the time of purification). The ceremony must take place in the temple.

These three rites (on the first, eighth and fortieth days) are performed at Baptism, if they were not performed separately, each at its own time. Therefore, the tradition of baptism on the eighth day, when the name should be called, or on the fortieth day, when mothers can already come to the temple and be introduced into the bosom of the church with a cleansing prayer, is widespread.

However, a person can be christened on the first birthday, and on any subsequent. The main thing is not to delay or deprive the child of the opportunity to become a Christian and heir to the Kingdom of Heaven as soon as possible. You also need to know that if a child is in mortal danger or is sick, then he should be christened as soon as possible. For this, the priest is invited to the hospital.

What are the requirements of the church for godparents?

As already mentioned, they take responsibility for the upbringing of the godson in the faith and make vows before God for him. Accordingly, they themselves must be Orthodox Christians who understand the foundations of the faith and live the life of the church, that is, they participate in the Sacraments (confession, communion).

In former times, Baptism was preceded by a period of pronouncement - the time that was given to a person to prepare for the great Sacrament. In the first centuries of Christianity, this period lasted up to two years. The catechumens - those who are about to receive the Sacrament of Baptism - were instructed in the truths of the faith, studied the Holy Scriptures and Tradition, and were present at Divine services. Only after thorough preparation was a person baptized.

At present, there is also preparation - categorical talks, where classes are held for adults who want to be baptized, and godparents who want to be the child's foster parents. Announcements are held at temples. Most often there are two, but there are parishes that organize longer training.

First of all, it must be said that there is no such day in the year on which this sacrament could not be performed. What days are children baptized in the church? The main condition is the readiness of a person for this. In addition, there is even the possibility of baptism not by a priest, but by any Christian. But this is allowed only if the person is dying and there is no way to call the priest.

Our ancestors did this, for example, when a baby was born very weak and the mother, fearing that he would die, washed him three times with water with the words of a prayer: “The servant of God (name) is baptized in the name of the Father (wash with water), amen, and the Son (wash water), amen, and the Holy Spirit (wash with water), amen.” This baptism is accepted by the Church. If the child remains alive, then you need to contact the priest in the future so that he completes the Sacrament. This, of course, is permissible only if there is a real threat to human life. But you need to know about it.

And in order to find out on what days children are baptized in the church in which it is decided to receive the Sacrament, it is necessary to contact the church shop with this question. In large churches, there are usually days specially set aside for this, then Baptism occurs simultaneously for several people. In small parishes, it is enough to contact the priest and coordinate the time with him. The same possibility exists in large churches, if there is a desire to be baptized separately.

In the old days, the day for the adoption of Baptism was timed to coincide with the great holidays, primarily Easter and Epiphany. Therefore, there are no obstacles to baptize a child on Trinity, Palm Sunday, Lazarus Saturday, Christmas or Epiphany. The only difficulty may arise if the priests are busy that day and simply cannot perform the Sacrament. Therefore, in this case, you need to know in advance which days children are baptized in the church, or discuss the day with the priest.

Where to perform the Sacrament of Baptism?

Can be done anywhere. In emergency situations, as already mentioned, even a layman can baptize. If you choose, at home or in the temple - of course, in the temple, where the Spirit of God is present in a special way. There is also the possibility of performing the Sacrament in an open source (river, sea), as it happened in ancient times, as the Lord Jesus Christ Himself was baptized. This issue can also be discussed with the priest.

Just do not forget that the Sacrament will take place in any place according to the faith of the person being baptized or the recipients, if it is a child, and does not depend on the place where it will take place.

How to live after Baptism?

For a true believer who consciously accepts Baptism, this Sacrament turns out to be an opportunity already here to partake of eternity, to become what God wants us to be. We are all children of the Lord, but after baptism we become closer to God. However, for this it is not enough just to be baptized, a further life in Christ is necessary, participation in the other Sacraments of the Church is necessary.

So at what age should a child be baptized? Preferably as soon as possible. But you need to understand that this Sacrament in itself does not guarantee salvation, but is only the first step towards it. And it is good when, after the baptism of a child, the family continues life in the bosom of the Church, being an example to their child.

Now many parents seek to baptize their children as early as infancy in order to protect them from unnecessary troubles, misfortunes and illnesses. However, such a desire should be dictated by the true faith of the parents, and not be a tribute to traditions, other people's advice and fashion trends.

When can a baby be baptized

In general, the rite of baptism is allowed to be carried out on any day convenient for the parents, even on holidays and fasting. However, it should be borne in mind that some temples have their own rules. Therefore, before the christening, it is necessary to talk with the priest in order to clarify important details.

A long tradition advises to baptize a child forty days after its birth. If the baby was born weak, premature, sick, then it is allowed to conduct the sacrament already on the eighth day. Sometimes the ceremony is performed right in the hospital ward. If the baby survives, then the baptism must be repeated a second time already in the temple.

In addition, the sacrament often takes place on Thursdays, as this is a very auspicious day of the week. In 2019, the following numbers will be the most suitable:

  • January - 9, 11, 12, 20;
  • February 7, 9, 21, 27;
  • April - 4, 11, 18, 22;
  • May - 2, 6, 10, 12;
  • June - 3, 8, 12, 24;
  • July - 4, 7, 21, 29;
  • August - 2, 4, 16, 26;
  • September - 14, 16, 28;
  • October - 3, 9, 18;
  • November - 2, 8, 16, 18;
  • December - 24, 27.

In order for the ceremony to go smoothly, you should pay attention to the following nuances:

  1. If parents are afraid for the health of their baby after bathing. In this case, you should wait for the summer, or choose a warm day in accordance with the weather forecast.
  2. If the mother of the child has not yet recovered from the birth, the sacrament should be postponed a little.
  3. Baptism often falls on the day when the baby turns one year old. At this age, he will be able to withstand the ceremony well.
  4. Often the choice falls on a day off, since at this time all relatives will be able to gather in the temple.
  5. Before baptism, it is important to coordinate everything with the godparents, because the church does not accept that one of the main characters does not appear at the sacrament.
  6. It is not recommended to perform the ceremony on especially major holidays, since there will be a huge number of parishioners at that time. In such an environment, the baby will feel clearly not comfortable. In addition, the priest may not physically have enough time to baptize the child.
  7. Baptism at home does not make sense. After all, the full meaning of the sacrament is revealed precisely in the temple, because there is an altar.
  8. To reassure parents, you can carry out the procedure at home, however, when the child grows up, he will still need to be baptized again. And not every clergyman will agree to perform the sacrament at home.

Important moments of the rite of baptism

First, you need to choose a suitable name for the baby. This is usually done according to Orthodox calendar. However, when the name of the child is not available in the calendar, or it does not really fit into the modern framework, an option is selected that is close in sound. When parents pray for a child, light candles, or perform other sacraments, then you should use exactly the name that was given at baptism. It will determine the heavenly patron for the crumbs, as well as the day of his Angel.

Secondly, it is worthwhile to purchase the things necessary for the ceremony in advance. Godparents must buy a large towel, a cross and a christening shirt. They are then kept at home. Usually all this is available in every church shop.

Thirdly, it is important to approach the choice of godparents thoroughly. If desired, you can offer a responsible role to one person. For a boy, a man is invited, and for a little girl, a woman. The godfather must meet the following parameters:

  • not be one of the parents of the baby, as his mission is to replace them if necessary;
  • be an Orthodox person and know church canons, because he will be responsible for the spiritual upbringing of the child;
  • not be a monk;
  • also, godparents cannot be spouses or a couple in love.

Fourth, keep in mind that baptism is considered a free sacrament. There are no official price lists in the real temple. However, if the parents have the opportunity to voluntarily help God's house, then you can donate a certain amount to it. After all, the temple is not alien to everyday duties - to pay for electrical energy, carry out repairs, and so on. The priest has no right to refuse to perform the ceremony for the poor. If he still does this, then you should definitely inform the dean about it.

Thus, it is important to treat baptism extremely responsibly, to choose a favorable date, to take into account significant nuances, because an incorrectly performed rite has no power of its own.
