Holy martyr war life. The Orthodox Church honors the memory of the holy martyr

Saint Ouar is allowed to read prayer verses for the unbaptized. The martyr is asked to alleviate the fate of the souls of his relatives and friends, those who died in unbelief and did not accept Holy Baptism and who failed to know the True God. In addition, prayers are read for the health of young children, as well as for babies who died before they were born or during childbirth. Saint Huar is allowed to say prayers for those who have not been baptized, however, one cannot ask for those who have committed suicide.

The life of Saint Warus took place in the 4th century in Alexandria. At that time, the ruler was the Roman emperor Maximian. Knowing how to firmly believe in Christ, however, fearing the pagans, Saint Waur was unable to reveal his beliefs. Lacking the courage to openly believe in times of persecution, Ouar spent his nights courting the prisons and caring for the captives.
Once he saw that among those imprisoned there were 7 Christian desert teachers. They were tortured for a long time, and then they were tied up and thrown into the walls of the dungeon, where they were starved. Having bribed the guards, Ouar entered the walls of the prison and freed the hostages from their shackles and provided them with food and drink.

By morning, one of the martyrs died from his wounds, and Saint Ouar appeared before the eyes of the governor, declaring that he wanted to suffer with the Christians. After these words, they began to torture him: they tormented him, slashed him with metal knives, and then, pinning him upside down to a tree, they tore the skin from his back and beat him with gnarled canes on his stomach until the insides fell out to the ground. After his death, the body of Saint Ouar was taken outside the city limits and thrown out to be eaten by dogs.

One pious widow, whose name is Cleopatra, sadly watched from afar the torment of St. Varus. When the body of the martyr was taken out of the city, Cleopatra, under the cover of night, secretly transferred him to her dwelling and buried him in the bedroom.
After the completion of the persecution, the path of Cleopatra rushed to Palestine, to the village of Edra. In the ancient tomb of her ancestors, Cleopatra, under the guise of the remains of her husband, transported and laid there the relics of St. Ouar. Every day she visited the tomb, lit candles and burned incense, and other Christians, following her example, began to read prayer verses to Saint Varus and receive healing.

Blessed Cleopatra, seeing that a mass of people were gathering at the tomb of Huar, decided to build a temple in his honor. After the temple was consecrated, the relics of Saint Ouar were placed under the altar, where the Divine Liturgy was celebrated. After the end of the service, Cleopatra organized a small feast for the guests and, together with her son, served them. Suddenly, John fell ill with a fever and expired at midnight, leaving his mother in inconsolable grief. Sobbing, Cleopatra went to the walls of the temple and, clinging to the tomb, began to reproach the saint: “This is how you repaid me for everything that I did for you! Such assistance did you give me at the moment when I placed all my aspirations on you? Who will bury my body? It is better for me to give up my spirit than to see my son dead. Give it back to me or take me away from here right now, because my life has become painful from my inconsolable grief.

From extreme fatigue and inconsolability, Cleopatra fell asleep right at the coffin. In a dream, the martyr Uar appeared to her, holding her son in his arms. Seeing them, Cleopatra rushed to the feet of the saints, but Saint Ouar raised her and said: “Why are you complaining about me? Do you think that I have forgotten all the good deeds that you showed me? And first of all, I begged the Lord for your relatives who were not worthy of Holy Baptism, with which you laid me in the tomb, so that they would be forgiven for their sins. Your son now belongs to the Throne of the Lord, and serves our Ruler, however, if you want him to serve the earthly king, take him back. However, her son, who was in the hands of the martyr, said: “No, my protector! Do not heed the words of my mother, do not take away my fellowship with the saints. Addressing Cleopatra, Saint John said: “Why are you crying, my mother? I was numbered with the heavenly army and stand before Christ together with the angels. Cleopatra said: "Take me and let me stay with you." However, Saint Ouar replied: “Being here, you are still with us; go, and when God wills, we will come back to take you.”

Having spoken these words, they became invisible. Waking up, the woman experienced indescribable joy and told the clergy about the dream. Together with them, she honorably buried her son at the tomb of Saint Ouar, no longer weeping, but rejoicing in God. After that, she distributed all her belongings among the needy, and began life at the temple of the martyr Uar, day and night without stopping fasting and reading prayer verses.

Located in the Temple of the Life-Giving Trinity in Vishnyaki, Moscow

On November 1, the Church commemorates the holy martyr Uar and seven Christian ascetics (beginning of the 4th century).

Ouar lived in Alexandria during the time of Diocletian and his co-emperor Maximian. The young man came from a noble family, was a valiant warrior and head of the cohort. He was a Christian, but he did not openly confess his faith, fearing persecution and torment. During times of severe persecution, Ouar visited imprisoned Christians at night. One day he learned that the seven Christian ascetics, whom he often visited, were to be executed. Then Uar asked the ascetics to pray for him, telling about their fear of the persecutors. One of the Christian ascetics died, unable to endure the torture, and then Ouar, full of strength and love for God, decided to take the place of the deceased, to openly confess his faith in Christ.

When the governor saw his warrior Uar among the Christians, he became furious and ordered the young man to be tortured until he renounces Christ. Huar was tortured for a long time, but he did not betray his faith, filled with love for God and inspired by the prayers of the ascetics. After the torture, the martyr Uar lived for another five hours, and then his body was taken out and thrown out of the city.

One pious woman, Cleopatra, who was present at the death of Huar, decided to secretly take the remains of the holy martyr and at night, together with her son, transferred them to the basement of her house.

A few years later, when the persecution and persecution subsided, Cleopatra transported the remains of the martyr to her homeland, to the village of Edra near Mount Tabor in Palestine, and buried him with honors in the tomb of her ancestors, and later a church was erected there, where the relics of the saint were solemnly transferred .

The only son of Cleopatra, John, who received an honorary officer's position, for which his mother had so prayed for the martyr Huar, suddenly fell ill and died. Cleopatra, with bitter sobs, turned to the relics of the holy martyr Huar, imploring him for the resurrection of her son. When Uar and her son John appeared in a dream to Cleopatra, shining with bright clothes with crowns on their heads, she realized that the Lord had accepted her son into the heavenly host, and was comforted. After that, blessed Cleopatra served until the end of her life in the temple of the martyr Huar.

Veneration of Martyr Uar in Russia

Church of the Nativity of John the Baptist on Bor

The tradition of venerating the holy martyr Huar in Russia began in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. It was then that in one of the most ancient churches in Moscow - the Nativity of John the Baptist on Bor - a chapel dedicated to the martyr Huar appeared. This happened after the birth on November 1, on the day of memory of the holy martyr Huar, the last son of Ivan the Terrible, Tsarevich Dimitri. At birth, the prince received the name of an Egyptian martyr. At the same time, the first image of St. Uara with a particle of his relics. There is a legend that the icon was painted according to the exact measurements of the baby Huar (Demetrius) at the request of his mother Maria Nagoya.

Some researchers believe that the widespread popular veneration of the martyr began after the end of the Time of Troubles, when devastation, famine, epidemics claimed many lives of unbaptized babies, and the survivors were frail and sick. Then the mothers brought babies to the temple to the chapel of the martyr, “they believed White stone under the image of the martyr Uar "(N. D. Izvekov" The Church in the name of St. John the Baptist, which is in the Borovitskaya tower in the Moscow Kremlin "). The composition of the service to the holy martyr is attributed to the same time.

In 1847, at the behest of Emperor Nicholas I, the Church of St. John the Baptist was dismantled, as it violated the architectural ensemble of the then built Grand Kremlin Palace. The main throne was moved to the Borovitskaya Tower. And in 1848, the chapel of the martyr Uar was moved to the Archangel Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin (where the Pokrovsky chapel was previously located, transferred to the choirs).

At present, in the northeastern part of the Archangel Cathedral, where the chapel of the martyr Uar with an iconostasis and icons dedicated to his life was previously located, there is an exposition of icons. Here you can see one of the most revered images of the martyr Uar, which, according to legend, was considered miraculous. The holy martyr is represented in the form of a young warrior. The icon was painted at the beginning of the 18th century. Of particular interest are the unique icon of the Martyr Uar with his life and the icon “The Appearance of the Martyr Uar and her son John to Blessed Cleopatra” - the iconography of both icons is very rare.

The Holy Martyr Uar is still very revered by the Orthodox in Russia. They resort to his prayerful help, asking for intercessions for alleviating the fate of the souls of deceased unbaptized relatives, for the health of babies and young children, as well as babies who died in the womb or during childbirth.

Over the past two decades, not only the chapels of the martyr Uar have appeared in Russia, but there are even several churches consecrated in his honor, as well as churches with side chapels in the name of the Egyptian martyr.

The Holy Martyr Uar lived in Alexandria in the 4th century and served in the Roman army. He was a secret Christian. Not having the courage to openly confess his faith during the persecution, Ouar went around prisons at night, looked after the martyrs and asked for their prayers.

One day he learned that there were seven Christian teachers among the prisoners. They were tortured, and then the bound ones were thrown into a prison cell, where they starved for several days. Having bribed the watchmen, Ouar entered the prison, freed the martyrs from their shackles, gave them drink and food.

“Pray for me, saints of God,” he asked, “and I would like to suffer for Christ, but I am afraid of torture.” “Remember what is said in the Gospel,” the martyrs answered. “Whoever denies me before men, I will also deny him before my Father in heaven.” Let's go, brother, with us to Christ on the martyr's path - let's endure together."

The next morning, one of the martyrs died of his wounds, and Saint Ouar, standing before the governor instead of him, said that he wanted to suffer with the Christians. They began to torture him: they tortured him, hewn them with iron knives, then, nailing him upside down to a tree, they tore off the skin from his back, and beat him in the stomach with knotty sticks until the insides fell to the ground. When Saint Ouar died, his body was dragged out of the city and thrown to be eaten by dogs.

One pious widow, named Cleopatra, secretly took the body of the martyr and buried it in her house.

When the persecution ceased, Cleopatra left for Palestine, in the village of Edra. She brought the relics of the saint here and placed them in the family tomb. Every day she prayed at the tomb of the martyr Uar. Following her example, other Christians began to resort to his help and received healing from the relics of the saint.

Blessed Cleopatra, seeing that many people were going to the tomb of Huar, decided to build a temple in his honor. Her seventeen-year-old son John was preparing to join the Roman army, and the mother fervently prayed to Saint Ouar that he would be an assistant to the young man and would ask the Lord for him what would be pleasing to Him, and John would be useful. She hoped that when the temple was built, her son would receive an honorary position in the army.

In the new church, the relics of Saint Ouar were placed under the altar. After the celebration of the first Divine Liturgy, Blessed Cleopatra arranged a feast and, together with her son, served the guests. Suddenly, he developed a high fever, and at midnight the young man died. Cleopatra ran to the church and began to reproach the holy martyr: “Pleasure of God, this is how you paid for my labors! It would be better for me to die myself than to see my son die.”

From extreme fatigue and sorrow, blessed Cleopatra fell asleep right in the temple. In a dream, the martyr Ouar and John appeared to her in sparkling robes and crowns.

The saint said: “Do you really think that I have forgotten your good deeds? I begged God to forgive the sins of your relatives, with whom you laid me in the tomb. I took your son - he stands before the throne of God and serves the King of Heaven; if you want him to serve the earthly and temporary king, take him back.” But the young man embraced him with the words: “No, but deprive me of communion with the saints!” And he said to his mother: “Why are you crying? I am numbered among the host of heaven and stand before Christ along with the angels.”

Coming to her senses, blessed Cleopatra told the priests about the vision; together with them, she honorably buried her son at the tomb of Saint Huar, no longer weeping, but rejoicing in the Lord. After that, distributing her estate and renouncing the world, Cleopatra began to live at the church of St. Huar, pleasing God.

The Holy Martyr Uar (+ 307) lived in the city of Alexandria in Egypt and was a military leader of the Tian cohort. Believing in the True God, but fearful of lawless idolaters, he hid his faith. During the beginning of the persecution, Saint Ouar went around the dungeons at night and looked after the Christians imprisoned in them: he washed and bandaged their wounds, and brought them food.

One day Saint Ouar visited a dungeon at night, in which there were seven Christian teachers. Saint Ouar asked them to pray so that he would get rid of the fear of torment and be honored to suffer for Christ. “If you are afraid of temporary torment, then you will not escape eternal torment, if you are afraid to confess Christ on earth, then you will not see His Face in Heaven either,” they answered. Hearing this, Saint Ouar felt such love for God in himself that he decided to endure suffering for His Name and remained in prison. In the morning one of the martyrs died of his wounds. Saint Ouar, appearing before the governor together with six teachers, said that he wanted to suffer in place of the deceased prisoner. St. Ouar was beaten with sticks, his body was planed with iron knives, then, nailed upside down to a tree, the skin was torn off his back, and his womb was tormented until all the insides fell to the ground. The saints prayed for him and inspired him to a feat. The governor ordered them to be taken back to the dungeon, and Saint Ouar cried out to them: “My teachers! Pray for me for the last time to Christ, for I am already parting from the body, but I thank you for leading me to Eternal Life.” A few hours later, Saint Ouar died. The tormentors dragged his body out of the city and threw it to be eaten by dogs. One pious widow, blessed Cleopatra, whose husband was also a military commander in Egypt, looked with sorrow from afar at the sufferings of St. Ouar. When the body of the saint was thrown outside the city, blessed Cleopatra secretly brought him to her house at night and buried him in her bedroom. The next morning the Christian teachers were beheaded with a sword. Blessed Cleopatra constantly prayed over the tomb of Saint Ouar, revering him as a great intercessor and intercessor before God. When the persecution subsided, Cleopatra returned to Palestine, to her native village of Edra. Under the guise of the remains of her husband, blessed Cleopatra transferred the relics of the holy martyr Uar and laid them in the ancient tomb of her ancestors. Every day she went to the tomb, lit candles and burned incense, and following her example, other Christians began to resort to the prayers of St. Huar and received his healing at the tomb.

Blessed Cleopatra, seeing that many Christians were going to the tomb of the saint, decided to build a temple in his honor. By that time, her son John had reached the age of seventeen. Blessed Cleopatra asked the king for an honorary position in the army for him and decided that he would begin his service after the construction of the temple was completed. When the church was founded, blessed Cleopatra called for bishops and presbyters, and the honest relics of St. Ouar were transferred to a precious bed, and on top of the relics Cleopatra placed a belt and military clothing, which her son was soon to put on. She fervently prayed to Saint Uar that he would be an assistant to her son and would ask the Lord for him what would be pleasing to Him, and useful to her son.

After the consecration of the temple, the relics of Saint Ouar were placed under the altar, on which they celebrated the Divine Liturgy. After the service, blessed Cleopatra arranged a feast for the guests and, together with her son, served them. Suddenly, Saint John fell ill with a fever and died at midnight, leaving his mother in inconsolable grief. With weeping, blessed Cleopatra rushed to the temple and, crouching down to the tomb, began to reproach the holy martyr: “So did you repay me, the saint of God, for having worked so hard for you? What kind of help did you give me when I despised my husband for you and placed all my hope in you? Who will bury my body? I'd rather die myself than see my son dead. Give it to me, or take me out of here at once, for life has become a burden to me from bitter sadness.

From extreme fatigue and great sorrow, blessed Cleopatra fell asleep right at the tomb. In a dream, Saint Ouar appeared to her, holding her son by the hand. Both of them were as bright as the sun, and their clothes were whiter than snow; they wore golden belts and beautiful crowns on their heads. Seeing them, blessed Cleopatra threw herself at the feet of the saints, but the martyr Ouar lifted her up and said: “O woman, why are you complaining about me? Do you think that I have forgotten the good deeds that you have shown me? Do I not always listen to your prayers and pray to God for you? And first of all, I begged God for your relatives, with whom you laid me in the tomb, so that their sins would be forgiven them. Then I took your son to the service of the Heavenly King. Didn't you yourself pray to ask God for him what would be pleasing to Him and useful to you and your son? Your son now stands before the Throne of God and serves the King of Heaven, but if you want him to serve the king of the earth and the temporal, take him back.” But the youth, who was sitting in the arms of Saint Uar, embraced him and said: “No, my intercessor! Do not listen to my mother, do not deprive me of communion with the saints. Turning to blessed Cleopatra, Saint John said: “Why are you crying, my mother? I am numbered among the host of heaven and stand before Christ together with the angels. Blessed Cleopatra said: “Take me with you so that I can be with you.” But Saint Ouar answered: “And here, remaining on earth, you are still with us; go in peace, and then, when the Lord commands, we will come to take you.”

After these words, both of them became invisible. Coming to her senses, blessed Cleopatra felt unspeakable joy and told the presbyters about the vision; together with them, she honorably buried her son at the tomb of Saint Huar, no longer weeping, but rejoicing in the Lord. After that, having distributed her estate to the needy, having renounced the world, Cleopatra began to live at the church of St. Huar, spending day and night in fasting and prayers. Every Sunday, during prayer, Saint Ouar appeared to her with her son. After spending seven years in such deeds and pleasing God, blessed Cleopatra reposed in the year 327.

The Holy Martyr Uar is greatly revered by the Russian people. They resort to his intercession, asking for petitions to alleviate the fate of the souls of deceased relatives who have not been honored with Holy Baptism, as well as for babies who died in the womb or during childbirth.

A remarkable example of the effectiveness of personal prayer can be found in the life of St. Gregory the Dialogist: when he learned that the long-dead Roman emperor Trajan had done a work of such great mercy that it seemed to be more of a Christian than a pagan (hurriedly opposing the enemy at the head of the army, the emperor stopped in all his armor and stood up for the offended widow), then shed streams of tears in prayer for the soul of this man and received assurance through Divine revelation that his prayers were heard. The soul of the pagan emperor was delivered from hell and even implored by the tears of St. Gregory. Although this is a very rare case, it gives hope to those whose loved ones have died outside the Church.

Prayer for the deceased unbaptized, St. martyr Huar
Oh, holy martyr Uare, venerable, with zeal for the Mistress of Christ we kindle, you confessed the Heavenly King before the tormentor, and now the Church honors you, as if glorified from the Lord Christ with the glory of Heaven, Who has given you the grace of great boldness towards Him, and now stand before Him with the Angels, and in the Highest you rejoice, and see the Holy Trinity clearly, and enjoy the light of the Beginning Radiance: remember our relatives and languor, who died in ungodliness, accept our petition, and like Cleopatra, the unfaithful generation freed you from eternal torment with your prayers, so remember the fir-trees buried contrary to God, who died unbaptized (names), trying to ask them for deliverance from eternal darkness, so that with one mouth and one heart we will praise the Most Merciful Creator forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer for the dead unbaptized people

Despite the ambiguous attitude of the church towards the lost souls, prayer for the unbaptized dead also works. Many clergy say that any person is worthy of the protection of the Lord.

However, it is known that the church rejects unbaptized souls, as such, forbidding ordering liturgies for a deceased person who refused to enter the bosom of Orthodoxy. You can only take the opportunity to read a private prayer for the deceased, being outside the influence of the church.

It is possible to offer prayers for the unbaptized dead to anyone who wants to give them a well-deserved rest in another world.

By praying for the departed soul, you provide support not only for the dead, but also for yourself. The power of prayer allows you to diminish the degree of grief for a worthy person who occupied a significant place in your life.

Scientists also note the need to offer prayers. According to one of the existing theories, prayer has a special effect on the consciousness of everyone who reads it, due to the presence of a special combination of sounds. Neuro-linguistic programming discovers the amazing properties of prayers for an unbaptized soul, used for centuries by thousands of people.

On the Internet, you can read a huge number of real cases when, thanks to prayer services, the fate of unbaptized people really improved, who then appeared with gratitude in dreams to close person who lifted her up. It happens that the deceased appear in a dream and ask their loved ones to pray for them in order to find peace. You shouldn't be afraid of this. If you also have such dreams, do not refuse the deceased: this is the least that you can do for him.

Pray to our God for the lost

But to whom should we pray for the souls of the departed who have not received Orthodox baptism? The clergy note that it is possible to pray for the unbaptized not only to the saints, but even to the Lord our God. The offered prayers will certainly reach the addressee, because everyone who has lived a righteous life on earth has the right to God's forgiveness and patronage.

You can even pray for people who have apostatized from the faith, who have converted to another religion, or who originally represented it. By the way, in the Orthodox Church there is still no consensus on whether to consider Catholics as baptized Christians or not.

There are many legends about the holy martyr Uare, the patron saint of the lost. According to church sources, he once appeared to a believer named Cleopatra, declaring that he had asked for forgiveness of sins for all her dead ancestors. Hence, Christians began to ask Uar for forgiveness of sins for the unbaptized dead.

During his lifetime, Ouar was famous for many good deeds. Possessing the opportunity to help the unfortunate Christians who were imprisoned for their faith, he tried in every possible way to alleviate their plight.

Heaven help everyone

It is possible and necessary to offer prayers for the unbaptized dead, because the soul of the deceased is easier when she is commemorated at the icon. And let it be an icon at the home altar, for the deceased it does not matter.

There are prayers:

For those who are not baptized to God:

For unbaptized souls to the holy martyr Uar:

The power of faith - works under any circumstances

The church forbids ordering liturgies for the unbaptized, however, those who wish can use the power of private prayer said outside the church. But be careful: there is an opinion that the unbaptized have made their choice, and prayers for their souls, addressed to the great martyrs, can harm yourself.

Offer a prayer service when you yourself want it.

Words must fully comply with your desires, only then they will come true. In addition, one more condition must be strictly observed - Faith. The presence of sincere faith can work real miracles, granting peace to the unbaptized dead and living on Earth.

Comments - 7,

My father was unbaptized. Unfortunately, that was the time. However, before his death, he told me that he was extremely sorry about this, and if he could turn back time, he would perform the rite of baptism. That's what I'm praying for. And if a person has been a convinced atheist all his life, then, probably, there is no point in "imposing" his point of view on religion on the deceased. In any case, it is better to clarify this issue with the priest.

You could baptize him yourself... By analogy with Bulat Okudzhava.

When a person dies, he seems to begin to see clearly and in no case should you even think about the fact that you allegedly “impose your point of view on the deceased” with your prayers about him, on the contrary, this saves his soul, and all other thoughts from the evil one.

On July 2, 2017, my dad Lev Alekseevich died, at the age of 76, after a long illness, he is not baptized, but a very kind, reasonable and fair person.

hello my son's suicide is 39 years old, what prayers can I have up to 40 days to relieve the suffering of his soul. The son was a drug addict, he was ill for a long time, he got away from unbearable mental pain. Nina

Daddy died on July 5 this year, he was unbaptized. I pray for his soul every day. Holy Martyr Huar. My father never believed in God, But I had a dream that my dad tells me that it’s hard for him there. What else can be done for him?

Beloved daughter died like this and having not had time to be baptized, how to be baptized for her? Her name is Victoria! I myself am baptized!

Today, there are many different disputes about whether it is possible to pray for the health of an unbaptized person. Some argue in this regard that it is categorically impossible to ask the Lord for such people. They justify this by the fact that a person who has not been baptized puts his person against church canons, rejecting the shrine of God's Temple.

Others say that you can even ask God for lost sheep, so he will definitely hear your prayer for unbaptized people.

Judging by the numerous arguments of the clergy on this topic, we can safely draw a conclusion. To the question, is it possible to read a prayer for unbaptized children or adults? You can answer like this: of course, you can, why not?

Church sources even contain real prayers for unbaptized people. In such prayers, people turn to God for the forgiveness of sinners and the opportunity to return them to the bosom of the divine temple.

For the deceased unbaptized - prayers to the martyr Uar

If you want to reach out to the Lord and ask for protection for a person who has not passed the Sacrament of Baptism, then it is better to turn to the patrons of the lost. One of these patrons is the holy righteous War. This Saint, during his lifetime, prayed for the repose of the unbaptized for the protection of the Lord.

Saint War is addressed to:

  • for living lost people;
  • for children who have not been baptized;
  • for unborn babies;
  • for an unbaptized deceased baby who did not have time to receive the Sacrament;
  • for lost people who have died.

Words of prayer to this Holy Martyr:

“Oh, holy martyr Uare, venerable, with zeal for the Mistress of Christ, we kindle, you confessed the Heavenly King before the tormentor, and now the Church honors you, as if glorified from the Lord Christ with the glory of Heaven, Who has given you the grace of great boldness towards Him, and now stand before Him with the Angels , and rejoice in the highest, and see clearly the Holy Trinity, and enjoy the light of the Beginning Radiance: remember our relatives and languor, who died in ungodliness, accept our petition, and like Cleopatra, the unfaithful generation of your prayers freed you from eternal torment, so remember the trees that were unbelievably buried who died unbaptized (names), trying to ask them for deliverance from eternal darkness, so that with one mouth and one heart we will praise the Most Merciful Creator forever and ever. The Church has an ambiguous attitude towards lost souls. But there, no less, there is real prayer to the Lord for such people. And many clergymen even declare that every person has the right to ask for God's protection.

However, it must be remembered that the church forbids ordering liturgies and funerals for lost souls. You can only read a private prayer for the deceased. At the same time, being outside the influence of the church.

praying for dead soul You not only support the deceased, but also yourself. After all, as you know, prayer allows you to plead sadness, grief for a worthy person who was an important part of your life.

Prayer for the unbaptized dead to the Lord

Many people often ask themselves the question: “who can pray for the souls of dead people who have not received Orthodox baptism?” The clergy say that it is possible to address prayers not only to God, but also to the Saints. Remember that sincere prayers from a pure heart will definitely reach the addressee. Every person on the planet has the right to the protection of the Almighty and his forgiveness.

Praying for people who have not been baptized is possible even for people without faith or who have converted to another religion. In addition, in the Orthodox Church to this day there is no specific opinion on whether baptized Catholics should be considered Christians or not.

You can ask the Almighty in these words:

Seek, O Lord, the lost soul of my father: if it is possible to eat, have mercy! Your destinies are unsearchable. Do not put me in the sin of this prayer of mine. But Thy holy will be done

May the Lord keep you!

Prayer to the Hieromartyr Uapy.

Oh, holy martyr Uare, venerable! We inflame the Lord Christ with zeal, you confessed the Heavenly King before the tormentor, and you zealously suffered for Him, and now the Church honors you, as if glorified from the Lord Christ with the glory of Heaven, Who has given you the grace of great boldness towards Him, and now stand before Him with the Angels, and rejoice in the Highest, and see clearly the Holy Trinity, and enjoy the light of the Beginning Radiance. Huaru prayer for the unbaptized dead in Russian

One day Saint Ouar visited a dungeon at night, in which there were seven Christian teachers. Saint Ouar asked them to pray that he would get rid of the fear of torment and be able to suffer for Christ. “If you are afraid of temporary torment, then you will not escape eternal torment, if you are afraid to confess Christ on earth, then you will not see His Face in Heaven,” they answered. Pray for me the last time to Christ, for I am already parting from the body, but I thank you for leading me to Eternal Life. A few hours later Saint Ouar died.

With weeping, blessed Cleopatra rushed to the temple and, crouching at the tomb, began to reproach the holy martyr: “So did you repay me, the saint of God, for having worked so hard for you? What kind of help did you give me when I despised my husband for you and placed all my hope in you? Who will bury my body? I'd rather die myself than see my son dead. Give it to me, or take me out of here at once, for life has become a burden to me from bitter sadness.

From extreme fatigue and great sorrow, blessed Cleopatra fell asleep right at the tomb. In a dream, Saint Ouar appeared to her, holding her son by the hand. Both of them were bright as the sun, and their clothes were whiter than snow; they wore golden belts and beautiful crowns on their heads. Seeing them, blessed Cleopatra threw herself at the feet of the saints, but the martyr Ouar raised her up and said: “O woman, why are you complaining about me? Do you think that I have forgotten the good deeds that you have shown me? Do I not always listen to your prayers and pray to God for you? And first of all, I begged God for your relatives, with whom you laid me in the tomb, so that their sins would be forgiven them. Then I took your son to the service of the Heavenly King. Didn't you yourself pray to ask God for him what would be pleasing to Him and useful to you and your son? Your son now stands before the Throne of God and serves the King of Heaven, but if you want him to serve the king of the earth and the temporal, take him back.” But the youth, who was sitting in the arms of Saint War, embraced him and said: “No, my intercessor!

Lord, forgive and have mercy!

This prayer, no other

Firmly and there you are, behind the grave,

With hope: “Lord, have mercy!”

Lord, his soul ended his earthly life, and here he is at the beginning of air ordeals.

His will is bound, I read that he can no longer repent if he did not accept Christ during his lifetime. I do not know what were the last moments of his life, so I resort to You.

God, forgive me, I dare to ask the Lord of Heaven and earth for mercy on the soul of this man. Mother of God, help, dear! The Lord listens to your holy prayers, You can beg the Lord to grant forgiveness to the soul that has gone astray and did not recognize its Lord during its lifetime.

Archangel Michael and all incorporeal Heavenly Powers, help!

Holy martyr Uar, help!

Nicholas the Wonderworker, help!

Father Seraphim, help!

All the saints of God, help, save his soul from hell with your prayers!

He was a good man, though a sinner. We are all sinners on earth before You, O God.

Forgive me, Lord, if I offended Your Majesty with my petitions.

Mother, Holy Mother of God, warm intercessor for us sinners, we trust in you!

Blessed Mother Matronushka, Holy Martyr Uare, do not leave them with your holy prayers and intercession!

May Your will be done, Lord!

Blessed Cleopatra, seeing that many Christians were going to the tomb of the saint, decided to build a temple in his honor.

And I haven't done anything really good in my life, God, I haven't even begun to serve You properly yet.

Forgive me, Lord! Forgive my boldness in prayers for those who died unbaptized, who are commemorated here, if you please, have mercy on them and me.

Save me, Lord, with the holy prayers of my Guardian Angel and all those who pray for me, a sinner!
