Esoterics for beginners. Where to start studying esotericism

Esoterics for beginners

So, esotericism for beginners and more.

The books that I list below are the best that I have come across in many years. Some of them are very unusual... Perhaps not all of them will “go”... Some you just need to grow into. But it's definitely worth a try.

Do not be intimidated by the names, phrases and terms that appear in the contents of books, prefaces and lists of chapters. The books on the list are written in simple and understandable language, but nevertheless, many of them are very complex and “multi-layered” things, the meaning of many of them comes only after some time. Tested on my own skin...

I will give a list of the best books in the main areas. Only together they will give a very good and “balanced” understanding of many things that are worth knowing and understanding for a person who is attracted to esotericism.

There is definitely no “garbage” here, which was written solely for making money from gullible suckers and superstitious hysterics. Only the best books on esotericism that I have ever read.

I’ll say right away that this list of books on esotericism probably included no more than 3% of what I read. This, as they say, is the “candidate minimum.”

If you think that esotericism for beginners is no longer interesting to you, you can simply consider this my personal rating of books read. When choosing books, the emphasis is on the practical value of literature for esotericists.

Carlos Castaneda (from 3 to 11, only then read books 1 and 2!). Development of consciousness through the practices of Toltec magicians. Very strong books!!! Everything described really works. A bunch of effective techniques for developing consciousness and abilities. A must read!
Florinda Donner – “Shadow of the Witch” is a very powerful and “living” book, don’t be put off by the title. There is simply nothing to compare it with. The magic of the Indians of South America, the practices of spiritualists. A fellow student of Castaneda describes learning the practices of healers and spiritualists. There are many stories in the book that are in the category of “you can’t imagine such things.” Every story carries an “abstract core.” It definitely won’t leave you indifferent.
Reutov “Dream Hackers”. Practical techniques for developing abilities described in the form of light fiction. Based on information from Castaneda's books, a group of practitioners developed their own techniques. Read and have no doubts.
Mikhail Nekrasov “Ensemble of Universal Worlds” – the structure of human energy shells, chakras, the effect of working with them.
Sergey Lazarev (everything you find). Karma. The best author on the topic.
Vadim Zeland “Reality Transurfing” – I highly recommend it.
“Hatha Yoga Pradipika” with comments by Swami Muktibodhananda Saraswati is, in my opinion, the best book on yoga in general. In fact, there is not only about hatha yoga, there is information in other areas as well. Lots of useful information and practical things.
Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda. “Chakras and kundalini. The hidden powers of man.” The topic is the human energy structure. The best book on chakras.
Swami Sivananda (whatever you come across) Yoga is simple, logical, accessible, without any mysticism and “cockroaches” characteristic of eastern authors. All of the author's books that I have read are excellent.
Sakharov “Opening of the third eye”. Clairvoyance, clairaudience. A practical guide to developing abilities. Simple, consistent and clear.
Mantak Chia - has written many excellent books on qigong, which cannot be said about the filmed video. Read everything you find, but I especially recommend the books “The Iron Shirt”, “Treatise on Changing Muscles and Tendons” and “The Tao of Light” (I’m not sure of the exact name here).
Alberto Villodo (whatever you find). Development of consciousness, ancient magical practices of the Indians of South America.
Taisha Abelar (whatever you find). Toltec magic. Fellow student of Castaneda.
Elena Mir “The Art of Dreaming” (not sure of the title).
Robert Monroe (whatever you find). Astral exit, lucid dreaming, OBE.
Mikhail Raduga (everything you find). Astral exit, OBE.
“Turbo gopher” – (I don’t remember the author). Nature and methods of eliminating complexes. The latest working development technology.
Simoron&Simoron “Burlan-Do”. A modern school of “magic”, techniques for getting what you want.
Barbara Brennan "Hands of Light" The topic is energy healing.
Sergei Sidersky (everything you find). Yoga and energy, but not only. He writes in simple language, interestingly and without any “mystical tinsel”.
Dan Millman “The Way of the Peaceful Warrior” (there is a movie based on this book, but the book is much better). Development of consciousness. Interesting thing.
Ron Hubbard "Dianetics". Working with consciousness. Attention, I warn you! The author is the creator of the sect!
Sotilian Sekoriski “The Fool’s Path.” Ambiguous, scandalous, with profanity, but it dispels some illusions, useful and funny.
Fantastic, but... However, I think it will be very helpful to understand some key things that I only found there. These books are very interesting to read.

Green "The Journey of Hiero". Telepathy and clairvoyance. Fantasy.
“The angel of death with trembling hands.” Fantasy. Telepathy and clairvoyance. (downloaded on the Internet, I don’t know the author).
Vasily Golovachev “Forbidden Reality” and there are also a couple of good books, the names of which I don’t remember. Heroic adventure fantasy (mostly). The author has many works, but only a few of them really make you think and lead to very interesting thoughts.
The list of the best books on esotericism will be edited over time. Also, I missed some books (or I don’t remember the author, or the title, or both). I'll try to add it later.

If you have questions about why a book or author is not on the list, then there are many options: either I haven’t read this book, or I don’t remember the title or author, or I didn’t like this book.

Studying esotericism in practice cannot be reduced only to reading books; only practice counts, how you live and what you do with this information in your head.

I recommend mastering meditation and concentration, studying and practicing stalking (Castaneda), lucid dreaming, yoga, Tarot cards and runes. Tarot cards and runes are tools, crutches for consciousness, but they will help a lot.

Practicing meditation and concentration will help you develop your abilities quickly and safely.

The martial arts of Southeast Asia will be very useful, I especially recommend the old traditional martial arts schools of Vietnam, Southern China, as well as the practice of Tai Chi and Qigong. They will help clear energy channels, increase overall energy potential and become healthier overall.

And one more thing... subscribe to the blog!

I have already written on the pages of my website that an esoteric club has been created in the city of Varna in Bulgaria. Its creator is Lyudmila Dmitrieva. Lyudmila Dmitrieva started thinking about creating an esoteric club a year ago. She has been studying esotericism for thirteen years and is a Reiki master and healing practitioner.

Lyudmila decided to pass on all her accumulated knowledge to all those who would also like to get acquainted with esotericism and learn healing practices for self-restoration of their health. The first meeting in the esotericism club with listeners took place on October 5, 2013 in the library building, not far from the railway station in the city of Varna.

Railway station building in Varna

16 people gathered for the meeting. There are both young people and pensioners here, but they are all united by the desire to learn esotericism, learn the basics and new knowledge about self-restorative practice, and learn to heal themselves. In addition to this main goal, students have the opportunity to expand their circle of acquaintances in a foreign country - Bulgaria, spend time together in nature, on excursions, listen to lectures by invited lecturers on topics that interest them.

Esoteric Club

My task, as the author of the site, is to convey to my readers all the interesting information through video. Before visiting the club, I was not familiar with esotericism and Reiki. Therefore, in my articles I will briefly introduce you to general issues of the classes and note the important points of the classes. The main topic of the classes will be revealed in the video.

First club lesson

Those readers who are interested in the topic of esotericism and Reiki may have the opportunity from the first lesson to gain knowledge from the video, which I will regularly post in my articles.

At the first lesson, Lyudmila introduced those present to literature on esotericism, which should be used as a primary source. These are books by Sanat Kumar “Live and Love”, Seklitova L.A. and Strelnikova L.L. “The soul and the secrets of its structure”, Liya Sokolova “Reiki Rioho the path to yourself.”

Live and love the Soul and the secrets of its structure Reiki Rioho the way to yourself

However, as Lyudmila herself notes, understanding information from books is quite difficult. Therefore, in class she reveals information in a generally accessible and understandable language.

You can study esotericism by reading information on the Internet on a computer, but live communication between students in classes is much better. You can feel each other's energy here.

There is no charity in the laws of the Universe. As much as you receive, you need to give back as much. And this law applies to all of us, in contrast to the charity existing on Earth. Therefore, Lyudmila decided to pass on her knowledge to the club’s listeners and to you, my readers. Even if one or two people come to class, Lyudmila will study with them.

Lyudmila Dmitrieva

Because it is very important to initiate people into the knowledge that the Higher Hierarchies give; this will be a great thing not only for people, but also for Lyudmila herself.

By studying this knowledge, a person will rise to the next levels of his consciousness, changing his thoughts and actions, and will be able to transform his life. He won't follow her lead. And he will be able to lead it, create it independently, without trailing behind it.

Club members

During the classes, a separate topic will include lectures on Reiki, where the possibilities of self-healing will be studied and put into practice. You, my dear readers, will be able, together with the club’s listeners, to see the benefits that come from using energy for your health and spiritual development.

Reiki does not negate medicine. Healing practices do not replace medicine, they are based on self-healing. Energy practices enable a person to mobilize all his energy resources to eliminate the disease. Medicine and healing practices work on the same energies; they do not contradict each other, but complement each other.

  • Literature.

I am increasingly asked where to start studying esotericism? And although I do not consider myself an authority, I will try to offer everyone who is interested a list of literature on esotericism, which I would definitely recommend reading.

So, esotericism for beginners and more.

The books that I list below are the best that I have come across in many years. Some of them are very unusual... Perhaps not all of them will “go”…. Some you just need to grow into. But it's definitely worth a try.

A fellow student of Castaneda describes training in the practices of healers and spiritualists (communication with disembodied spirits. The book contains many stories that are from the category “You can’t imagine such things.” Each story contains an “Abstract Core.” This book will definitely not leave you indifferent.
Reutov "Hackers of Dreams". Practical techniques for developing abilities, described in the form of light fiction that is too similar to reality to be complete fiction. Based on information from the books of Carlos Castaneda, a group of practitioners from Russia developed their own methods of stalking and lucid dreaming. Read and have no doubt, the book is very interesting and definitely worth your time.
Mikhail Nekrasov "Ensemble of Universal Worlds" - the structure of human energy shells, chakras, the effect of working with them.
Sergey Lazarev (everything you find. Karma. The author describes his experience of healing and how he came to understand the basic mechanisms of karma. The best author on the topic!
Vadim Zeland "Reality Transurfing" - I highly recommend it to those who want to understand what an egregor is and how it works. Comments will come later.
“Hatha Yoga Pradipika” with commentaries by Swami Muktibodhananda Saraswati is, in my opinion, the best book on yoga in general. In fact, there is not only about hatha yoga, there is information about other areas as well. Paramhans swami maheswarananda. "Chakras and kundalini. Hidden powers of man." Topic: human energy structure. The best book on chakras, again without any sophisticated speeches from pseudo-guru. Robert Monroe (everything you find. Astral exit, lucid dreaming, OBE. Classics of the topic. The most famous author. Mikhail Rainbow (everything you find. Astral exit, OBE. Conducts trainings on OBE. "Simoron.

Esotericism and esotericism are two different concepts. The first is broader, and with its help the ancient teaching is characterized. The second is used within narrower boundaries, describing only modern trends. Esotericism can be defined as a set of special secret knowledge, psychospiritual ways of perceiving reality.

    Esotericism includes:

Esotericism can be represented by a certain teaching that contains the quintessence of knowledge about the world and man. Moreover, this knowledge was always secret, and only adherents of one school or another possessed it. If you decide to study esotericism on your own and are wondering where to start, then remember: within each movement there is its own esotericism. The ideas of astrologers and alchemists, magicians, masons and others about many world processes may differ to one degree or another. Of course, there are some common points, but there is no complete identity in these teachings.

Over many millennia, so much knowledge has accumulated about the world around us that it is simply unrealistic to master it in one human life. When deciding where to start studying esotericism, remember the limitations of your capabilities, do not try to cover everything at once. In addition, recently a lot of pseudo-teachings have appeared that literally flooded the Internet. Therefore, when choosing the path you intend to take, be careful and careful.

With the help of esotericism, people learn the hidden, mystical essence of a person and the objects around him. Esoterics studies processes occurring throughout the Universe, and not just on our planet. And, according to the teaching, each human soul simultaneously reflects all these processes. Practitioners consider esotericism an applied science; it is still preserved in many mystical traditions to this day. But it is not recommended for beginner esotericists to use such knowledge; only experienced masters can do this.

If we talk about the semantic meaning of the word “esotericism,” then this is any hidden spiritual practice.

Every esoteric teaching says that in order to fulfill his desires, a person first of all needs to learn to concentrate on achieving a goal. This will set the surrounding forces in motion and direct them to the materialization of well-constructed thoughts.

Many of you have probably heard, and perhaps even wondered, what does the word “esotericism” mean? To put it in simple words that will be understandable to everyone, this is some forgotten knowledge and techniques that allow, using the hidden capabilities of a person, to influence the world around us, our own body and worldview.

With the help of esotericism, people get the opportunity to understand themselves and the reality around them not only from the point of view of three-dimensional reality, as we are used to doing, but in a completely new way.

Reality is not three-dimensional. It is limitless, and is by no means all subject to the eyes. Just like a person, not only a physical body, but also a complex system of energy nodes and channels, a cocoon, an etheric body and other things.

Such knowledge was accumulated over thousands of years by many peoples of antiquity, and only small grains of it have reached us. However, even they have sufficient importance and many possibilities.

However, most people at the moment simply ignore the existence of such techniques, due to the fact that now their minds are occupied only with the material component of life. And this is a mistake.

As already written above, the universe consists not only of the material, but also of the subtle plane. I wrote a separate article about the subtle plan, you can read it here. Existing in harmony, they complement each other, and one cannot exist without the other. Only by achieving a balance between physics and metaphysics can you find peace of mind and realize your true purpose in this world.

Very often people ask the question: “Where to start studying esotericism?” The answer lies on the surface - from books.
Many will say, what about a teacher or self-development? And there is an answer to this question. At the initial stage you do not need any teacher. You gain basic knowledge (fundamentals) that will be useful to you in the future through trial and error. If you have a teacher at the very beginning, then you will not experience these fundamentals for yourself, because everything will come easy and you will not gain the experience that is needed for further development. In addition, there is a high probability of becoming a hostage to the teacher himself and his opinion, since at this stage you cannot have a full-fledged opinion.
Self-development is a utopia; the rejection of knowledge carriers forces you to develop at a low speed and with great effort, both psychological and physical.
Below I will give a list of books for beginners on where to start studying esotericism, which will be replenished over time, in my opinion worthy of attention. At this stage, you need to understand one regularity - the more information you have, the more complete your opinion. Also try to read “opposite” authors and primary sources.

    Basics of esotericism

    1. Knowing yourself. This process has always interested people. There are no limits to perfection, and esotericism once again confirms this. Those who decide to take the path of enlightenment must first learn to free themselves from the framework that has been created by the mind and various cultural prejudices. For this purpose, various breathing exercises, meditation techniques, etc. have been created. Of course, no one will be able to break out of their usual boundaries the first time. But with training you can learn a lot.
    2. Knowing your abilities. In this direction, esotericism as a practice presupposes awareness of the skills that every person possesses from birth. For example, this includes techniques of levitation, telepathy, telekinesis, psychic abilities and healing. A separate esoteric teaching is responsible for each of these skills.
    3. Knowledge of the surrounding world. The third direction studies the techniques and ways of influencing a person on everything that is around him. For example, with the help of esotericism you can learn to achieve success in business and in your own feelings. This also includes parapsychology, magic, various studies of the origin of energy, the astral plane, etc. Prominent representatives of the third direction are today's popular magicians, sorcerers and psychics, who almost daily prove the existence of parallel worlds and their intersection with our world.

What associations do you have when you mention esotericism? Surely something mystical, unusual, and sometimes even fictitious. However, you still visited our resource and are reading this material, which means that esotericism is really interesting to you. Let's try to figure out what it is, what is the correct name for esotericism, and whether it is possible to master it on your own.

    Defining the concepts of esotericism

What is esotericism? In the scientific world, it is customary to say that this is a doctrine that studies those phenomena that have not been recognized by traditional science. But if you dig deeper, this definition seems somewhat ridiculous and absurd. Why? Take, for example, an expression about traditional science: can previously recognized methods of treatment with opium or mercury, or the assertion that the Sun revolves around the earth, be considered traditional? Of course not.

On the other hand, the postulates of esotericism do not change not only over the years - they are static over the centuries. Scientific schools and leaders change, new laws of physics are discovered, which nip the old ones in the bud, and esotericism continues to stand on the same “eternal” truths. Esotericism is, of course, a science that studies those areas that “material” (and not traditional) science has not yet reached.

While scientists paid tribute to fashion, joining any scientific school, defending one point of view or another, discoveries were made in esotericism, which later became the basis for quantum physics or string theory. It’s strange, in “mystical teachings” they spoke about the versatility of the Universe several centuries ago, but modern physicists only recently began to talk about it. As you can see, esotericism is simply those laws that science cannot prove through experimental traditional methods. Without a doubt, esotericism is a very powerful science that has gone far ahead.

What esotericism conceals: where to start

Now let's talk about what esotericists do. Their practice for an ordinary person is something incredible and beyond the bounds of fantasy. Within the framework of esoteric teachings, people learn to change the state of consciousness, work with energy, learn to control their consciousness, direct the energy of the Universe as they need it, work with information channels to determine the future. By the way, psychology to some extent also belongs to esotericism - the social direction of the science of human consciousness.

    The benefits of esotericism

"Why do I need it?" – perhaps a similar question has already flashed through your head. Esotericism, at least its basic principles and beginnings, will be useful to everyone without exception. After mastering the basic concepts, a person learns not only to absorb information and go with the flow, he will learn to think, recognize the signals that the Universe gives him, and will be able to control not only his physical body, but also his consciousness.

By comprehending the truths of esotericism, absolutely all the principles of life change. A person who understands how the Universe works, how the energy of the people around him interacts with his consciousness, looks at the world completely differently, he creates his own environment. Studying esotericism does not mean at all that you will be cut off from the outside world. On the contrary, you will learn to interact with him much better.

Starting to study esotericism on your own is not easy. Initially, you need to understand that you will have to really work hard: it is difficult in one fell swoop to abandon the foundations of society in which the character of almost each of us was formed. Therefore, for the best results from learning esoteric art, we recommend you a whole series of educational lectures, courses and programs under the guidance of masters, those who have already achieved certain success in one or another branch of esotericism.

You can start by studying magical traditions. Magical science is the fastest path to spiritual development. We offer convenient distance learning. The distance learning program is designed in such a way that you can even learn the basic tenets of esotericism remotely. Additionally, you can always get advice from experts who can help you solve your current problems in a completely different way and with minimal effort.

There is a lot to talk about. You can deny it, you can be skeptical. But you just have to try it once – and your opinion about esotericism will change once and for all. Learn to create the world around you today!

    The harm of esotericism

A person who studies esotericism is a thinking person. This is the one who knows how to analyze, the one who gets to the truth. Of course, these people are harmful to the government, the system, and society. We are in a certain society, within strict limits, everyone plays a certain role. And if a person begins to think, this can take him beyond the bounds. His actions will be meaningful, and this is not at all desirable for those who control us. Always remember, if you stray from the herd, they will try to drive you back.

A book at the intersection of esoteric knowledge and deep psychological experience. The author seeks to encourage the reader to change reality through rather unusual techniques.

There is not much practical advice in the work, but there are a lot of questions that can become a starting point for working on yourself. Moreover, at the center of the story is communication with a real northern shaman, whose experience and powers are incredibly great, because he has access to the secret knowledge of many local peoples.

In many ways, this is fiction, based on the true story of the author, who met the main character and had many interesting conversations with him about life and death.

Carlos Castaneda can easily be considered one of the greatest mysteries of the twentieth century. All that is known for certain about him is that he is the author of ten best-selling books and the founder of the Cleargreen company, which now owns the rights to Castaneda’s creative heritage. Everything else is nothing more than assumptions, if not speculation.

Castaneda carefully maintained his “secret identity”, practically did not give interviews and categorically refused to be photographed (however, by coincidence, several photographs of Castaneda still exist). He even denied that he had ever been married, although Margaret Runyan, the author of a book of memoirs about this man, claims that Castaneda was her husband. In other words, the true biography of Carlos Castaneda was known only to himself; the lot of everyone else is to try to reconstruct it.

Carlos Cesar Arana Castaneda (presumably this is his full name) was born on December 25, 1925 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In 1951, he emigrated to the USA, and in 1960, an event occurred that radically changed the life of Carlos Castaneda himself and thousands of his followers - Castaneda, then a student at the University of California, who came to Mexico for “field materials” for his thesis, met don Juan Matus, a Yaqui Indian. Don Juan became Castaneda's spiritual teacher and for twelve years passed on the secret knowledge of his tribe to his ward.

With don Juan's permission, Castaneda began to write down his words; This is how the first of Carlos Castaneda’s world-famous books was born - “The Teachings of Don Juan. The Way of the Yaqui Indians,” published in 1968. This book instantly became a bestseller, as did the nine that followed. All of them are recordings of don Juan's conversations with Castaneda, and the chain of events in them ends in 1973, when don Juan mysteriously disappeared - “melted like fog.”

Legend has it that Castaneda himself left our world in a similar way - as if he had disappeared into thin air. A less poetic version of the obituary reports that he died on April 27, 1998 from liver cancer and that after cremation, Castaneda's ashes were sent to Mexico, according to his will.

When considering information about what esotericism is and what it studies, we often come across such a concept as the occult. Occult sciences are a system of secret knowledge about the spiritual and material world, giving the initiate enormous opportunities. They are indeed somewhat similar to esoteric teachings, but there is one fundamental difference. Esotericism is spiritual development and self-knowledge, awareness of one’s Divine essence and complete renunciation from the material world. Occultism is the development of one’s abilities to gain strength and power in the material world; such knowledge helps to achieve high status and material wealth. Currently, occult sciences, such as numerology, palmistry, healing, astrology, fortune telling, etc. are called esoterics. This is not an entirely correct statement, since their main task is to improve life in the material world. While esotericism is the path to God and spiritual perfection.

For those who are just entering the world of magic and extrasensory perception, serious theoretical support and practical examples presented in accessible language are needed.

Esoteric literature for beginners, contrary to popular belief, includes not only fantasy or dry reference books, because today authors strive for unity with readers. That is why on store shelves you can find fascinating manuals and instructive stories, seasoned with the necessary dose of humor and containing all the necessary information for beginners.

    Books by Carlos Castaneda

In the list of works necessary for beginning esotericists, Castaneda's texts come first. The books of this philosopher and mystic are based on his own experience gained in Mexico thanks to a spiritual mentor from an Indian family. Carlos was initiated into shamans and magicians, and after that he began to write novels about his biography and life with secret knowledge.

"The Teachings of Don Juan"- Castaneda's first and most famous book about the first steps of immersion into the occult world.

“Separate Reality”- a work about an expanded perception of reality and the role of psychotropic flora in the field of magic.

“Journey to Ixtlan”— continuation of Castaneda’s story about how he had to go through the path of a warrior and analyze the experience he gained.

“Tales of Power”- a guide to the most secret magical rituals, necessary to comprehend the contradictory essence of man.

    • “Second Ring of Power”— the character reveals his powers through the fight against female warriors.
    • “The Gift of the Eagle”— the protagonist’s journey into the worlds of the past with the help of lucid dreams.
    • “Fire from Within”- a book about a positive way out of a series of negative events.
    • “The power of silence” - the first work in which the author addresses his audience, indicating the capabilities of each person in the field of magic.
    • “The Art of Dreaming”— text about the features of astral flights.
    • "The Active Side of Infinity"- a book about who prevents you from becoming a sorcerer and how to get rid of such ill-wishers.
    • "Wheel of Time"- a set of quotes and comments from Castaneda, summing up his long-term study with his mentor.
    • “Magic passes”— a guide to specific exercises mastered by the author at the beginning of his shamanic path.

“Shadow of the Witch” (“Dream of the Witch”), F. Donner

In her book, the follower of Castaneda describes the practices of summoning spirits and the ancient witchcraft of the peoples of South America. The abundance of exciting real stories makes the work interesting from beginning to end.

For those new to the realm of mysticism, this text is more understandable because it is written from the scientific point of view of an anthropologist in the style of field notes. Some people call this fictional novel a fairy-tale philosophical parable, but in any case, no reader with a broad outlook will refuse to touch the world of the witch.

The book also touches on the role of intentions in human life.

“Ensemble of Universal Worlds”, M. Nekrasov

One of the few works entirely devoted to working with the human chakra system and its energy layers around the body. The most interesting books on esotericism are rarely authored by domestic specialists, but this manual is a pleasant exception, created by a psychologist, athlete, yoga master and expert in Eastern philosophy.

The book examines the structure of the Universe and man himself from the point of view of the Cosmos, describes the laws of the universe and the rules of harmony in the AUM system. The author touches on the topics of Yin and Yang, reincarnation, human memory, and human abilities.

Thanks to Nekrasov, you can learn to quickly analyze your own aura by color and emotional states.

    Books by Robert Monroe

The work of this American officer is based on testing the effects of sound waves on the consciousness of an individual. Monroe personally experienced the state of astral projection, when a person’s mind leaves his physiological shell. The first book about out-of-body experiences is called “Out-of-Body Travel,” and it describes astral travel with a good sense of humor. The author simply and intelligibly explains to the reader the possibilities of the existence of subtle matters.

Monroe’s second book, “Far Journeys,” already contains data collected during experiments on volunteers who were influenced by binaural beats. The author describes his techniques for focusing the mind, reducing stress, and improving the quality of dreams. Questions are also raised about what is the meaning of humanity being on earth, whether reincarnation is true, and whether God exists.

Monroe’s trilogy ended with the book “The Ultimate Journey,” which already presents the final conclusions of many years of research and fully describes the path of man beyond the boundaries of material reality. The author offers his own truths about what awaits a person after life, and what the essence of earthly incarnation is in general.

    “Hatha Yoga Pradipika”, S. Swatmarama

The most fundamental ancient treatise on yoga, which does not lose relevance today. Useful practical information with comments in accessible language - unlike its analogues, the book is devoid of additional educational load and metaphor.

The Russian translation of the work consists of 4 chapters.

In the first part you can learn about proper nutrition, a moral lifestyle, and healing postures for practice.

The second chapter is devoted to breathing techniques, cleansing the nose and stomach, and focusing on a candle flame.

The third part describes how to fold your hands correctly during exercises, why energy channels are needed and why awakening Kundalini flows.

In conclusion, meditative techniques are presented: relaxation of consciousness and subsequent enlightenment, concentration of the mind on objects and sensory distraction.

“Chakras and Kundalini. Hidden powers of man”, P.S. Maheswarananda

Another most informative book about energy meridians in the human body, but from the modern point of view of an Indian master. The structure of the main human chakras and practices for opening them are described.

The text begins with an overview of spiritual practices and an immersion in the philosophy of the East, where Swami talks about the relationship between the Creator and the personal Self, the laws of karma, the connection between consciousness and energy, and obstacles on the path to spiritual growth.

Next, the author discusses the 8 main chakras, including the rarely studied Bindu Chakra. The work presents not only the qualities of each energy center, but also its attributes and methods for opening the chakra. Then comes a description of the continuity of Swami's teachings.

The book teaches you the right approach to your energy potential, helps you make yourself a disciplined and responsible person. Instructions from a spiritual teacher allow you to bring divine reality closer to your own life and free yourself from the cycle of unsuccessful reincarnations and deaths.

“Opening the Third Eye”, B. Sakharov

Esoteric books that are worth reading often seem complex in ideas and practices to beginners. But if you are attracted to clairvoyance and clairaudience and you strive to develop superpowers, intuition, and inner vision, you cannot do without this book.

A real and effective guide to developing psychic skills contains unique techniques and useful tips.

Sakharov gradually immerses readers into the system of special visions. First you just need to focus on objects, changing their perception in your head, then learn to look at what is hidden. Even mastering hypnosis is available to those who have opened their third eye. The proposed techniques also strengthen the nervous system and sharpen the sense of smell.

    “Guided Dreams”, E. Mir

A good book for those who are just getting used to the theory of lucid dreams and are not ready to study dry facts and advice. The work is based on examples from the author's experience, so it is easy and quick to grasp.

Readers note that the book is very kind and inspiring.

Elena Mir explains in accessible language how to control yourself in a dream, how to leave the body and, importantly, how to interpret night visions. By following the author, novice esotericists have the opportunity to expand their abilities and literally live an extra life.

The wisdom and depth of the text allow you to plunge headlong into the world of dreams and engage in self-knowledge without stopping from reading. The book also describes how to identify the signs of a dreamer, what are the features of astral projections and how to find a way out of nightmares.

    Books by Andrei Sidersky

An excellent set of materials on yoga and energy without any bias towards magic and mysticism. It is interesting that the author is known to a wide range of readers as a translator of Castaneda’s esoteric materials and Richard Bach’s fascinating stories, so the language of Sidersky’s work is literate, concise, and literary.

“The Third Discovery of Power”— against the backdrop of a personal conflict in the plot, the author describes the training of yogis, their methods for controlling the mind and energy. Attention is also paid to the theoretical aspect in practices.

“Yoga of eight circles”— training technologies are described, including integral training within the framework of yoga.

“The Gift of the Nagual”— a manual on Castaneda’s exercises, which include 12 Tensegrity techniques.

    “Hands of Light”, B. Brennan

An excellent example of literature on analyzing the human aura and diagnosing energy diseases. The author clearly and clearly explains the essence of healing. Barbara Brennan is not only a researcher and active healer, but also a psychotherapist and a real scientist, so her work is largely based on evidence and sound data.

On the pages of the book, the reader has the opportunity to take a journey into the history of the study of energy fields, as well as get acquainted with the nature of many karmic ailments. The author examines each layer of the aura, all the chakras, and also examines changes in energy shells with age, writes about the features of the auric connections of a person with his environment.

Barbara teaches how to work with a bioenergy pendulum to determine your energy centers and explains the reasons for the main energy blocks in the human body. Instructions for developing inner vision are also provided.

    “Dianetics”, R. Hubbard

This book should be read by beginners who have firmly decided on their worldview and are simply seeking to broaden their horizons. The fact is that the organization created by Ron is considered a sect, so one must treat his theory with a little skepticism.

The book describes the idea of reducing negative emotions and healing from psychosomatic illnesses through the constant experience of engrams - painful moments from the past. Some books about esotericism do not lose relevance even after decades, and this is exactly the case, since Hubbard’s works were written in the 50s. XX century

Many people consider Dianetics to be the science of healthy living. In fact, the author of the theory simply sought to work with the reactive mind of the individual, i.e. with the subconscious. He sought to offer people methods for clearing their heads of unpleasant emotions and memories they had experienced. By implementing the proposed techniques, you can move to a high standard of living.

    Mantek Chia Books

Each work contains a set of Taoist practices, including the secrets of Qigong. Mantek is not only a specialist in meditative and martial practices, but also a master of sexual kung fu. He is the author of the following books:

    • “The Healing Light of Tao”— a unique manual on light meditations using the Tao technique and instructions on their use for healing and self-development.
    • “Iron Shirt”— qigong practices to strengthen internal systems and achieve human harmony with the Earth’s energy field, as well as methods of combat energy protection and renewal of all organs.
    • “Healing by space”- Taoist cosmology for obtaining energy not only of Qi, but also of powerful stellar bodies. The book discusses the practice of skin breathing, as well as working with Qi of different colors and individual organs.

    “The Fool’s Path”, S. Sekoriysky

A scandalous work from the head of another sectarian organization. Useful reading for developing critical thinking and getting rid of some illusions about magic and yoga. Satisfied readers note that the book is written in simple language, but hides deep philosophical, religious and psychological contexts.

At the center of the work is a simple boy who unexpectedly escaped from everyday life and became involved with a girl who opened his eyes to another world.

The novel contains erotic episodes and obscene language, but this does not prevent it from asking the reader pressing questions about the benefits and essence of meditative practices.

“Beginner Wizard Course”, V. Gurangov, V. Dolokhov

This book is suitable for beginners of any level, even those who were not previously interested in esoteric teachings and practices. In fact, it is a guide to Simoron’s domestic training. Universal methods of practice allow us to answer the basic ideological and life questions that arise for most of us. Everything is presented in accessible, understandable language for everyone.

This is not a theoretical work, but a practical system of recommendations for changing life circumstances, which do not require special skills or training. They are applicable to superficial and deep fears, chronic and acute illnesses, emotional blocks, complexes, financial problems, etc.

The issues and methods discussed are supported by examples from the real practice of the authors, who convince the novice wizard that changing your life is easier and more exciting than it seems. The book by Vadim Gurangov and Vladimir Dolokhov does not have a narrow focus; it is addressed to a wide readership striving for a harmonious and happy life.

    “Mental self-defense”, D. Fortune

A useful guide for anyone who is in a hurry to master magical rituals, but does not think about the unpleasant consequences or even the retribution for possible mistakes. The book presents specific examples of ritual magic and Western esoteric traditions.

The author focuses on the causes and symptoms of psychic attack, which may be associated with an astral ghost, hypnosis, energy vampirism, etc. The stories of working with sacred symbols, the degree of influence of witchcraft in past lives, and methods of getting rid of haunting werewolves are also described. Dion explains in accessible language why spirits are chasing us and how to fight them through exorcism methods, meditative practices, and experiences of breaking astral connections.

Since the book lifts the veil of black magic, it is not always positively perceived by occultists, but it is useful for newcomers to the world of witchcraft who do not want to become victims of other people's rituals.

The writing of this Memo came about after visiting various esoteric sites. What can you find here! It is impossible to even imagine such an abundance of esoteric teachings, meditations, and practices. Reminds me of the description of the end of Atlantis, when people became sophisticated in practicing black magic.
This situation is not surprising; after two hundred years of the dominance of atheism, the awakening of the spirit began, as predicted in Agni Yoga. But, not having a scientific basis, aimed at achieving selfish goals, esotericism does more harm than good. The most unfortunate thing is that the basis of the foundations of esotericism - Theosophy and Agni Yoga turned out to be in complete obscurity and neglect. Therefore, no one knows about the consequences of thoughtlessly touching the secrets of esoteric knowledge.
As a visual example, here are some questions and topics that are discussed on these sites:

"Is it possible to place two or more desires on one I-magnet? Answer: a magnet for money, a car, a house and other material assets - together. And a magnet for love is separate. That is, the themes of the magnets cannot be mixed. Thank you very much, then Let's try to make two magnets: for excellent study and for material benefit."
    "Out-of-body technique and astral flight."
“Who knows what meditations, please recommend? Answer: “through darkness you know God”, “you can’t build paradise without going through the underworld”; Oshov dynamic meditations; Feeling of unity with emptiness; According to the Kryon method - the state somehow lives with me constantly, even after driving a car, I just change the energy channels (filtration) depending on the result I want to get; while you are going to university; Five Tibetan rituals; I wonder at what age you can start meditation? - Contact with darkness; Meditation according to the method of ancient shamans of Wu Chan Zhong; I’m currently doing “Planetary Yoga” - this is online meditation in real time. Moreover, based on their exercises, I began to feel the chakras and flows much more clearly; I chose a system of Knowledge such as Iissiidiology for the development of my Self-Awareness.”

This is only a small fraction of human madness. Of course, one could ignore it, but who, if not us, Agni Yogis, should help the “lonely orphan,” as Elena Petrovna called humanity. Distribute newspapers, give this reminder to people, advise them to visit our website, because as HPB wrote: " It is absolutely necessary to disabuse people before it is too late"But be prepared that you will be scolded, called names, called sectarians, ignoramuses in esotericism, etc.. This is the fate of all ascetics.

Most of those who touch practical esotericism have no idea about its nature and mix it with esoteric-occult sciences, including “black magic.” Their ideas about the powers acquired by people and the means used to obtain them are purely in the form of their fantasies and are far from the actual state of affairs. They imagine that it is enough to read about various esoteric practices and they can achieve whatever they want, that practical esotericism can be used at any time and for any purposes.
There is no doubt that many pretenders to the unlawful use of Esoteric Wisdom and Power will burst into indignation if the plain truth is told to them, but it is absolutely necessary to disabuse them before it is too late. This truth can be expressed in a few words: “Among the thousands of so-called “teachers and initiates” of esotericism in the West, there are not even half a dozen who have even an approximately correct idea of the true nature of the science called “Esotericism.” With a few exceptions, all these "teachers and initiates" follow the beaten path of witchcraft."
Let those who have felt a craving for esotericism first restore at least some order in their minds and not rush to their destruction. Let them first understand the true position in which the esoteric practices offered by unscrupulous charlatans stand in relation to True Esotericism and the difference between them. Let them understand that esotericism differs from magic and witchcraft, like the shining sun from the dull soot of coals.

Therefore, this warning will be addressed to those who were attracted by esotericism for the sake of searching and knowing the Truth, but not for profit, who strive for improvement in the name of the Common Good.

There are basically four types of esotericism:

    1) yajna-vidya, - knowledge of occult forces awakening in nature through the performance of certain religious ceremonies and rituals;
    2) maha-vidya, - esotericism of Kabbalists;
    3) guhya-vidya, - knowledge of the mystical powers contained in sound (ether), that is, mantras (monotonously chanted prayers or spells), and depending on the rhythm and melody used; in other words, esoteric action based on knowledge of the forces of nature and their relationships;
    4) ATMA-VIDYA, a term that is translated simply as “spiritual knowledge” (true Wisdom among true Esotericists - Mahatmas), but meaning much more.

Namely, the last type is the only type of esotericism that everyone should strive for., who strives for spiritual knowledge, who is inspired by the “Light on the Path”, and wants to be wise and selflessly help people. All other types are a kind of offshoot from the “esoteric sciences,” that is, arts related to the sphere of material nature, no matter how invisible their essence may be.
The first three types of esotericism can be acquired and produce results, good, bad or neutral; but atma-vidya notes their small value. Atma-vidya itself includes the first three and can even sometimes use them, but only after they have been cleansed of impurities, pursuing good goals and taking care to deprive them of any egoistic motives.
Let us illustrate this with an example: any man or any woman can independently study one or all of the above-mentioned "esoteric arts" without any serious preliminary preparation, or even without adaptation to the excessive restrictions of their lifestyle, and even without a sufficiently high moral standard. But as a result, sooner or later they will all turn into the worst kind of sorcerers, uncontrollably rushing into black magic.
Precisely, voodoo and dugpa eat, drink and have fun in the labyrinths of madness of newly minted ignorant esotericists. Those who seek peace, tranquility and prosperity in esotericism will fall into the networks of voodoo and dugpa. They will never find peace again, either day or night, because their own selfish desires and constant dark whispers will feed anxiety that they will no longer have the strength to overcome. Their hearts will be so filled with passions and selfish desires multiplied by the power of incoming psychic energy that it will no longer be possible to pass through the Golden Gate of Esotericism to the next stage of spiritual ascent. Sooner or later they will have to fall into witchcraft and black magic, become a slave to dugpa and voodoo, thereby accumulating terrible karma for themselves.
Thus, Western esoteric practices deserve censure, not glory gained through disgusting means. For, let us say again, hypnotism, vivisection, esotericism practiced in the West is pure veiled witchcraft, but devoid of the knowledge that voodoo and dugpa enjoy - it leads esoteric egoists into their clutches.
Having once made a mistake, people who have not outlived the self avoid realizing their mistake, thereby plunging more and more into the swamp. Their thinking falls under the influence of the astral regions of misunderstanding, where voodoo and dugpa dominate. And, although their primary intention was based on the implementation of white and not black magic, the results of even involuntary, unconscious witchcraft cannot but produce bad karma. Enough has already been said to make it clear that witchcraft is any kind of evil or selfish influence exerted on other people, animals or nature. Such causes must produce effects, and they are clearly revealed in the just law of retribution.
Someone, despite all the warnings, will practice practical esotericism. But let them remember that whether they understand the nature of esotericism or not, whether they believe that the rules imposed on students are too harsh, and therefore one can supposedly neglect atma-vidya or spiritual esotericism - their fate is very unenviable and sad - to turn into voodoo or dugpa in this life, to drag out a terrible and slavish existence for the next few rebirths, and ultimately the end of human evolution.

Much sad and terrible things can be avoided if people refrain from throwing themselves into activities the nature and meaning of which they do not understand.

Someone will ask: “What does it mean not to study esotericism? Isn’t there another, the right way?”

    Of course there is.

To begin with, let a person not take on a burden that is too heavy for him to bear. Let him not strive to become a “mahatma” or a hierarch, a Buddha or a great saint, let him simply study philosophy, spiritual sciences: astrology, palmistry, esoteric physiology; develops and strengthens morality, psychic energy, straight-knowledge, spiritual understanding, but most importantly, let him work for the benefit of people, applying the knowledge acquired, and he can become one of the greatest benefactors of humanity, without possessing any superhuman powers.
Siddhis (or powers of arhats *) exist only for those who are able to lead a “hard life”, make the great self-sacrifice that such training requires, and obey without question. Let people know and always remember that true esotericism or theosophy is the “Great Self-Denial of SELF,” unconditional and absolute, in thought as well as in action. This is ALTRUISM, and it takes the practitioner beyond any categories and ranks among all living beings - “he lives not for himself, but for the world.”

So, the man decided to learn esoteric practice. What awaits him? From the moment of such a decision, he comes under the close supervision of the Higher Powers. Even if a person does not realize it, the tests have begun. Let the person write down this date, so that later he can summarize his achievements through the first three years, the second, the third, and the seven years.
Much is forgiven during the first years of testing. But the newcomer will not be "accepted" until his individuality has disappeared, and he must become a wholly beneficent force in Nature.
This is how, from year to year, without leaving life, in labor, in fulfilling one’s civic and family duty, studying the basics of esotericism, applying the acquired knowledge for the Common Good, collaborating with devotees of the Light, one who has taken the path of esotericism will gradually approach his cherished dream - teaching practical esotericism. This preparatory period may take many years, but soon it will be at least several decades, or even several lifetimes. Everything depends on a person’s desire to overcome his selfishness. And then a person will hear the Voice of the Invisible Teacher calling to Shambhala. For only there can one comprehend atma-vidya, and nowhere else on the planet.
It should be firmly and clearly remembered that after this there will only be two poles of choice left for him, two paths, and there is no place to rest between them. He must either climb wearily, step by step, along the golden ladder leading to the state of a mahatma (arhat or bodhisattva), often through numerous rebirths, without hoping for devachanic rest, or he will fall from this ladder at the first false step and slide down to the state Dugpa....Are you ready for such a life? Are you ready to take risks? Does this goal appeal to you? Will you be able to overcome the incredible difficulties of the path?

The aspirant must make an unconditional choice between worldly life and life according to esotericism. It is useless to try to combine the two, for no one can serve two masters at the same time and please both. Is it possible for a person to enter the “open gate” of esotericism if his daily and hourly thoughts are connected with worldly things, desires for possession and power, lust, ambitions and duties, which, even if worthy of respect, are still the most mundane? ? Even love for wife and family - the purest, since the most disinterested of human attractions - is an obstacle to true esotericism. For, whether we take as an example the holy love of a mother for her child, or a husband for his wife, even in these feelings, if we analyze them to the very origins, then in the first case there will still be selfishness, and in the second - mutual selfishness. What mother would not, without a moment's hesitation, sacrifice hundreds of thousands of lives for the life of her child? And what loving person or faithful husband would not destroy the happiness of every other man or woman around him in order to satisfy the desire of the one he loves?
Anyone who would benefit from the wisdom of the universal mind must achieve this through the whole of humanity, without differences of race, temperament, religion or social status. It is altruism, and not egoism, even in its most legitimate and noble manifestation, that can lead a person to merge his small ego with the Universal Entities. It is to these needs and to this work that the faithful student of true esotericism must devote himself if he wants to acquire theosophy, that is, divine Wisdom and Knowledge.
He who indulges in the pleasures of earthly love or lust after he has devoted himself to ESOTERISM must soon feel what the result is: he will be irresistibly thrown out of the impersonal divine state into the lower material plane. Sensual or even mental self-gratification involves the immediate loss of the powers of spiritual insight - the Master's voice can no longer be different from the voice of his passions or even the passions of the Dugpas; true - from false, healthy morality - from simple casuistry.

There are “born magicians,” mystics and esotericists from the moment of birth and by right of direct inheritance of this ability, associated with a series of reincarnations and eons of suffering and failure. They can be said to be “resistant” to passions. No sparks of earthly origin can fan the flames of their feelings and desires, no human voice will find an answer in their souls, with the exception of the great cry of humanity. Only they can be guaranteed success. Such people are not easy to meet, for they pass through the narrow gates of esotericism, since they do not carry with them the personal baggage of human transient feelings. They are freed from the sense of the lower personality and the “astral” animal being, and a golden, albeit narrow gate is open to them.

But this is not the case with those who must carry, for many more reincarnations, the burden of sins committed in past lives and in their present existence. For for such people, even if they act with great diligence, the golden gate of Wisdom can turn into a wide gate and a wide path, “which leads to destruction,” and “many will be those who will enter into it.” This is the gateway of esoteric arts practiced for egoistic reasons and in the absence of the limiting and beneficial influence of ATMA-VIDYA.

We are in Kali-yuga, and its fatal influence is a thousand times stronger in the West than in the East; hence the easy prey achieved by the Forces of the Age of Darkness in this cyclical struggle, and the many illusions over which the world is struggling in our time. One of these is the relative ease with which people seem to be able to enter the "Gate" and cross the threshold of esotericism without any great sacrifice. This is the dream of most egoistic philistines, inspired by the desire to achieve Power and personal well-being through esotericism. But that is not why esotericism exists.
Let them stop here and make no more attempts because of their moral and spiritual weakness. For if, with their backs turned to the narrow gate, they are drawn by the desire for the practical esoteric, - to the wider and hospitable Gate of that golden mystery that flickers in the light of illusion - woe to them! This will only lead to a state of dugpa, and one can be sure that very soon they will find themselves on the fatal road to Hell.

*Siddhis (or powers of arhats) - clairvoyance, clairaudience, selection and flight of the subtle body, telekinesis.
    * Dugpa is the demon of evil.
    *Voodoo is a dark sorcerer.
